im guessing in the playoffs that Delonte will back both Rondo and ray so our rotations will look something like

Rondo/delonte
Ray/delonte
Pierce/Green
KG/Baby
Shaq/JO/Kristic

  I'd just as soon see

Rondo/delonte
Ray/Pierce
Pierce/Green
KG/Baby/Green
Shaq/JO/Kristic

I'm guessing we're lucky to have one healthy O'Neal come playoffs -- and Murphy plays.

My comment was that I'd rather split the 2-3 with RA/PP/Green than split the 1-2 with RA/DW/Rondo. I'd have to see Murphy play with the Celts before I knew where he'd go in the lineups.

I'd like to see
Rondo/West
Allen/West
Pierce/Green
KG/Baby
Shaq/Murphy

I think Kristic will only play late in games replacing Shaq for FTs. Kristic is about an 80% FT shooter.
I have the funny feeling that Baby maybe playing his way out of Boston. Lately, he's falling in love with long jumpers, which isn't his strength. Don't be surprised to see him getting yanked for doing idiocy.

IT's being reported that a number of teams are offering Brewer multi-year deals with their (likely partial, not full) MLE money. if that's the case, i think he's a major longshot to end up with the Cs.

Also -- supposedly he's talking to Rick Carlisle, Gregg Pop and Doc today.

Unless it is close to the full MLE, I think he might be better off taking a 1 year deal, exposing himself in the playoffs, and then trying to catch on this summer on a bigger deal.

While I wouldn't mind getting Brewer, I don't think there's much of a chance that he has a steady role on the Celts unless we get an injury.

Yeah, its going to be a really tough sell.  He will have a much better chance at playing, and more money in Dallas.

I am really surprised he is taking so long to make this decision.

Perhaps Ainge is leading Brewer to believe that he would be in the long term plans for the Celtics while the Mavs are throwing the short term money at him...

Purely speculation of course.

Yeah, but why wouldn't he be just as much a part of Dallas' future as ours?  While I think they can play together, there is some redundancy between Brewer and Green, and there won't be a starting sport for either of them next season (unless something very dramatic happens).

see my comment above regarding long term plans...

If he can get 3-4million per for 3 or 4 seasons before the CBA goes down, that'd be pretty tough to turn down for a D specialist in a Bruce Bowen type role.

Man I'd hate to see him on San Antonio working on Ray or Paul as a sub.

I find it difficult to believe any team is going to give the guy 3-4 years. He plays the most easily replaced position in the NBA, utility swingman, and he has always been merely solid, not extraordinary. Plus the uncertainty regarding the new CBA. If some team wants to give him the full MLE for 3 or 4,then so be it, he's not worth it..

can Dallas use the MLE to just claim Brewer off waivers?

or does it not work that way?

I really want Brewer, put him on the wing and we would have a whole new dynamic.

Rondo/Brewer/Green running up and down the floor would enable us to be big on the wing positions for defense as well as being explosive and athletic on offense, whens the last time we had that option on this team?

We need Brewer.

Uh Tommy was the coach, our defensive players were not offensive superstars but we RAN everyone into the ground.

No, but they could use the trade exception they have for Matt Carroll. If they can't negotiate a long-term deal, you can probably count on that happening. TP.
