Just read the TrueHoop post on Brewer...very interesting and informative.  My opinion was initially influenced by his terrible shooting percentages but now am convinced that in the right system and with a good coach he would likely thrive.

I doubt he signs with the Cs though.  Ten year veterans take the minimum to get a ring.  This guy is still on his rookie contract and needs PT to get his next contract.  I bet he ends up somewhere like Dallas (since Cuban overpays for everybody) or San Antonio where he could conceivably start next year at SG.

Yes, seems like Dallas is the likely destination.

I just saw we have TPE's for daniels, erden, harangody just over 3.3 million.

Yup, although they can't be used until the offseason, and they can't be combined.  However, Daniels TPE could be very useful this offseason.  Kind of like an extra Bi-Annual Exception.
that's true, if he joins us this year,he would make more money next season.

Huh?  A TPE can only be used to trade for a player on another team.  It cannot help us in any way with Brewer, unless you are talking about trading for him in the offseason.
with the BAE if it still is in the new CBA. I didn't know you couldn't combine TPEs if you wanted to claim a player off waivers.

It wouldn't be the worst thing if he went to dallas. At the very least he would be going to the west which is much better than any team in the east. Dallas will not make it to the finals so he won't hurt us in that case.

He'll be a millionaire no matter where he signs, so why not be a millionaire and a champion by joining the Celtics?

Danny could say wink wink you sign here we can sign you up after the year and be a part of Rondo and Jeff Green Future. Wouldn't be a bad way to start off the future.

I don't think there is any wink wink about it.  I am sure part of the sell would be that he would be getting the chance to earn a future contract with them, and being a part of their future core if the fit works.

Exactly, a wink wink sort of deal would be a promised contract with the MLE or some junk like that.

No way Danny commits to that, firs of all Brewer isn't worth it, and second of all the chances of getting penalized like Minnesota did make it an insane risk.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dallas have another good wing defender to throw at Kobe.  I really want Brewer here, but if not here I hope he goes to the Mavs.

I hope he makes his decision today.  I'm tired of waiting.

I think his agent will push hard for him to sign in Dallas. More money for him.

Like I said earlier it's a win win let him harass LA, hell even if for one more tea-bag D Fish throw down  ;D

While I wouldn't mind getting Brewer, I don't think there's much of a chance that he has a steady role on the Celts unless we get an injury.

Yeah, its going to be a really tough sell.  He will have a much better chance at playing, and more money in Dallas.

I am really surprised he is taking so long to make this decision.

While I don't think there's a HUGE role for him, there should be a solid 12-15 (maybe a few more) minutes a game for him here.  Bringing Brewer aboard might impact Delonte a bit, he'd probably play more-exclusively as the backup 1 and not as much backing up Ray.

Brewer can back up Pierce a bit, too, while Green is playing the 4.  Might impact Baby's role a bit, too.

There's enough "hybrid" guys on the bench (Delonte being a 1/2, Green a 3/4, Baby being a 4/5) where I think they can find room to fit in Brewer.
