Troy Murphy officially bought out

Quote
Troy Murphy has reached an agreement on a buyout with the Warriors, which is expected to be finalized on Monday.

Murphy is expected to choose between the Celtics and Heat after clearing waivers, according to Marc Stein. The Lakers and Knicks have not inquired about Murphy.

Portland also expressed interest, but the Celtics appear to be the favorite.

"This is a big one, folks"

So what is the waivers process?

If he's bought out I don't believe waivers are an issue.

ainge tried to give the knicks nate and a 1st for brewer, could they buy him out ?

I heard a couple of days ago that the Knicks were going to buy out Brewer and Balkman.  Not sure if that's the case though.  I'd love to add Brewer, especially as a potential future piece.  Murphy, Kapono and Brewer?  Or do you think we need a backup point guard?
brewer would be great, but if rondo went down we will loose no matter what pg we bring,i'm willing to risk having only west. brewer, green adds size to our bench.

If Brewer gets bought out (a big if), I dont think he goes anywhere besides Chicago where his best friend and former Florida teammate Joakim Noah resides.

It would be awesome having a perimeter defender coming off the bench but its not likely.

He's also the best player of the bunch by far. Donnie Walsh should be fired if he releases Brewer.

Bibby officially bought out.

Mo Peterson waived. I'd prefer him to Kapono. Mo has had some big games against the Celtics. At least, that's how I remember them.

I'd rather have Kapono.  He's a clutch shooter and has championship experience.

I think they'll keep Williams because he can rebound.  I hope they're foolish enough to release Brewer and we scoop him up. ;D

Does Chicago have a need at that position?

i think they should release him to a contender that can play him a few minutes, this 2nd unit in boston would be terrific PG West SG Brewer SF Green PF BBD C Krstic

That makes sense, except Chicago already has two defensively-minded, offensively-challenged SGs in Ronnie Brewer and Keith Bogans.

BTW, think Ronnie Brewer is regretting his decision to pass up Boston this summer for Chicago? Money was the same, but Brewer said he wanted Chicago because of more playing time. Meanwhile, the Bulls are said to be signing Rasual Butler, a fourth SG-type.

Yup, just read this as well... This would be a disaster for us. But then again, you can't trust "sources".
