Rondo dominated the second half....even gaurding lebron. At one point even snarls at lebron as if to say "not today"....i think he was in brons head....even at that moment and it worked. Rondo is a Beast and I cant wait to see him with a healthy group come June.

That snarl was epic. They keep replaying it on NBATV and I keep watching  lol

I thought it was kinda foolish until someone said it wasn't a timeout. Gotta love Rondo getting under their skin  ;D

Yep.  Plus I've seen Lebron and Kobe do it before too.

No timeout, Miami was on the court. Rondo was needling the Heat trying to see what they were going to run. Don't have a problem with it at all. There was no timeout, Rondo can go anywhere he wants on the court.

Rondo was the most noticeable person in that whole scene, but Miami was trying to take a timeout that that didn't want to be charged for.

Plus, while Rondo has the right to stand anywhere on the court, Lebron does NOT have the right to push a Celtics player in the chest.  Maybe Rondo could have pulled a KG and flailed and dove backwards and Lebron would have been charged with a tech.  The pushing was worse than the standing.

I thought it was funny, I was cracking up the whole time it was happening.

I also see some people mentioning that if Lebron did it everyone would flip out..well I seem to clearly remember Lebron doing it to us..the Celtics had their huddle and he decided to come over and see what was happening. I want to say it was last year when he was with the Cavs, but I'm not entirely sure. (and I don't know if my mind is playing games with me or not, but I'm pretty sure it was RONDO who was pushing him back out of the huddle to keep him out)..keep in mind I'm almost sure this was a legal timeout, yesterday's act Rondo had every right to do what he did.

Are you crazy??!? I'll take that from my team any day

Rondo was also was talking up some junk to House and LeBron, right around that time we cracked the game open it was awesome. He was channeling his inner KG.  8)

I have no issue with it.  It wasn't a time out.  The coaches had no business being on the court.  If that happened in a high school game or college game technical fouls would have been assessed.
do it

It was a highly intelligent play and one that if you are into box scores would go unnoticed.

TP - I was hoping someone else would remember this. LeBron did it to us during a real timeout last year. I believe it was the home game vs. the Cavs in the regular season where we had a huge lead, and then barely survived a furious comeback from the Cavs and still won. That was the game where LeBron pulled up for a three on a fastbreak to take the lead when he could've tied the game by taking it all the way to the hoop.

IMO, in a big game like that, you do whatever it takes to win. As long as you don't get a T and/or purposely injure another player, I'm fine with a player doing whatever he thinks helps his team win.

I loved it.

That said, I could never have done it for fear one of those 300lb monsters would have something to say about it.

I loved the play.  In no way was it "classless" or "foolish".  If it were a legitimate time out then I'd agree with the OP, but it wasn't.  And the Heat had no right having a huddle like that, or shoving Rondo.

The only err of the situation was that the referees allowed the huddle!

No offense- but half the stuff that goes on during the game your average fan never knows about.

Perhaps its better that way- gives you a cleaner view of the NBA its players the organizations etc.

I've worked in the field of College basketball since I was a college student.   Interned for A D1 school after graduating coached D2 & 3 NCAA ball.

You would not believe some of the stuff other teams do to our star players just to get them off their game.  1 team used to put a defender on our leading scorer & he would pinch his nipples every chance he got.

At one point he couldn't take it anymore and he just shoved the kid onto the ground earning him a technical foul.

Stepping on other players toes during box-outs - deliberately putting your knee into the back of another players knee.

spitting on their hands then grabbing a players arm whiping it on them.  I mean the dirt & crap that goes on from certain players in this sport is astonishing when you are up close and personal really watching it.

So does RONDO going into another teams huddle when  according to the rules they aren't supposed to be huddling with their coach (since there was no official or team time-out taken.

No that doesn't bother me at all & it shouldn't bother you either.  What should bother you is that the NBA calls the crud they call. & then allow a team to have an unwarranted team meeting without dishing out a DELAY OF GAME.

Fair or bad weather
I'll always be a fan of the green
