Caught the very end of it on ESPN, but Broussard was on there talking about it and mentioned Bynum would have more upside in a trade rather than anyone from NY.....said according to sources Lakers and Nuggets were talking

They should be pursuing Melo and they definitely the best trade package on offer.

That would be a fun lineup to see Carmelo starting at the three alongside Gasol and Odom.

Dale & Holly were talking to Jackie Mcmullen about this rumor last week.  They were pretty much in agreement that if the Lakers gave up Bynum and Odom to get Melo celtics fans should be very happy.

Lakers would need to get a good backup big man before the trade deadline. Preferably someone with a bit of heft.

If they can do that, they can improve their team by making this deal.

I don't think the Lakers win the title this year if they ditch Bynumm, not unless they add another quality guy for the front court. They'd lose their advantage over the Mavs/Spurs and that'd shift the balance in those match ups.

I'd also love to see a big lineup with Kobe at the point alongside Artest and Melo on the wings with their two skill bigs, Odom and Gasol.

That could be a dynamite lineup.

Go for it, LA.

Subtraction by addition in my book.

Devasting line up to defend against, but I don't think it'd work this year.

Bynum and Odom, yeah, that's a great move for us.  Just Bynum...hard to say since you never know what kind of playoff factor he'll be anyway.

I don't know how Melo and Kobe would mesh out there...seems like some serious alpha dog issues would emerge.  Not to mention Melo still seems deadset on the Knicks alone, which makes the deal seem a lot less likely.

Denver is pushing this line, not Melo. They're looking to get some sort of elite young talent back.

Melo can still kill the potential deal if he won't sign an extension.

Well, the Nets package is better...but since its off the table, I agree, the Lakers have the best package to offer.

Wonder if they're leaking these "talks" to try and squeeze more value out of the Knicks.

Idea that works - Melo,Harrington and Ely for Bynum and Odom

If the chemistry worked out, LA would be sick. And Denver wouldn't be out of the playoff picture either.

Fisher,Blake
Kobe,Brown,Barnes
Melo,Artest,Walton
Harrington,JoeSmith,Caracter
Gasol,Ely

Even this team on paper doesn't look like a team that could beat the Celtics in a 7 game series, but it could compete with Miami's Heatles
Can't stop, Rondo!

Not worth it for LA if Odom is in the deal too.
