How is my Pick 2 team?

Well, that completes Folsom Prison.  Overall, I'm pretty happy with how the team fits together:

C:  Haywood / Hayes
PF: P. Gasol / A. Randolph / Tolliver
SF: Batum / J. Jones
SG: Bryant / B. Rush
PG: Billups / Redick / Watson

All of the starters received votes for the All Defense team last year (along with Chuck Hayes).  There's a nice mix of young and old, athleticism and fundamentals, swagger and steadiness.  I'm also happy with the shooting; five guys shoot over 40% from three, with two others who have hit 40% in the past.

Obviously, it's pretty easy to build a team around Kobe and Gasol, but I do think this is probably the best "fake team" I've put together in terms of actually looking and functioning like a team, rather than as a collection of highly talented individuals.

Love Billups in the triangle. Love (well..morally hate) Kobe and Gasol as a pair, especially next to a solid guy like Haywood.

I wonder how Batum does next to Kobe, but that kid has some real talent if he can ever figure it out..and considering what LA did with Trevor Ariza, you have to think it is a possibility that he can turn a corner. I also love JJ Redick off the bench to make sure Gasol has room to work even when Kobe and/or Billups are out. Solid, solid team. Probably the best in the West.

That's kinda funny...because I'd point to your defense of Z-Bo this year as the turning point where people started saying "Oh, he won't ruin my team".

But thats assuming Oden is healthy right?  Im not as high on Harden as other people, even in college he dissapeared in big spots.  Green should be solid and Bosh is Bosh.

Right now I would take Mcgee over Oden because im not convinced Oden will ever play more than 50 games a season.  I don't think Harden is that much better than Nick Young, again im not that high on Harden, but I know other people are, and I know Nick doesnt play any defense but the kid can score.

And I think Lewis is a better player than Green right now.

Estimated stats is one of my fantasy sports pet peeves, so I appreciated the opportunity to take a dig at. I'm sure whoever does them has a very complex formula for how they're predicting these numbers - probably more complex than my double per 36's - but it's absolutely useless. I could care less what some guy thinks Larry Fitzgerald is going to do this year, show me what he actually did last year.

I'll also admit to relying on my sense of humor to mask my inability to understand advanced stats, and blame my honesty for bringing these truths to life.

I like this team a lot. I like Jarret Jack next to a healthy Brandon Roy, because Jack is not a guy who needs the ball all the time, and it will allow Roy room to create. I love Dirk here..especially next to the new Richard Jefferson who will provide even more spacing.

I kinda worry that you don't have a sparkplug off the bench in the second unit, and obviously Roy's health..but I really like the team, and Tyson Chandler is having a rejuvinated season, so the sky is the limit here with a healthy Roy.

The sparkplug is someone I looked for, but there just wasn't value in it.  However, I think Childress is a very solid offensive player, who can create his own shot as well as create for others, Duhon can distribute and knock down the shot, and while Johnson is not great off the dribble (yet?), he looks like he could be an elite shooter, who can get off his shot over almost anyone.  And of course Radmanovic is going to be a secret weapon to create spacing, and knock down jumpers over smaller 3's, and draw PF's out of the key.

I also will likely play Roy a lot with the second unit, allowing the offense to run through him a little more, since it will run mostly through Dirk when he is on the floor.

It also will be beneficial to Roy physically to be playing in shorter bursts.  I would generally have him play the first 6 minutes of the first, second, and third quarters, and then about the last 8 minutes of the 4th.

That's a good point.  If it does seem like the knee is not going to get better, then I would defintely consider that.  Although, I would worry about him coming off the bench cold...sometimes it is easier physically to start right out of warmups.
