I think Evans has gone very quickly from overrated last year to underrated this year.  There aren't many guys in the league with the potential to put up 20+, 5+, 5+ for the next decade or so.
Not to mention his contract is miles better than Iggy's.  Evans' problems this year seem to be

- his team and coach stink
- he's had nagging injuries all year
- his attitude has been poor at times, largely because of the first two and being only 21 on a team full of questionable personalities.

Put it this way, ignoring salary restrictions, would real Sacramento trade Tyreke straight-up for real Iguodala?  Would Philly do that deal?

I like Gortat a lot, but I think thats too early for him to go.

moi aussi.

I don't know.  If Noah can go #2 overall, then I don't think #26 is out of whack for Gortat at all.  There is a premium on centers, and Gortat has looked great lately (and between he and Noah, Gortat has the one who has been healthy the past two years.)
Personally I thought 26 was too early for Gortat and you really traded up with Billups, but Noah at #2 was Proterozoic Era early.

Yeah, I was legitimately shocked when I logged on this afternoon to see that Noah went #2.  He may be the most overrated player in the NBA.  I don't see a huge gap between he and Gortat, which is why I think Chicago's pick wasn't a bad one in terms of relative value.
He's got my vote.  I'm a guy who loves defense and rebounding and I don't think Noah is a slouch by any means but i wish i knew what some people see in him.  I mean ask IP and he'll try to tell you Noah is the 2nd best C in the league.

Defensively I think Gortat is every bit as good as Noah (he certainly flops less).
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I don't think its a fair question to ask b/c the real life Kings don't have the same rebuilding opportunities as I'm presented with our team.

His attitude also can be attributed to his own character, which many believe to be flawed. It might be because he's young, but it also just be who he is.

No I agree, Iggy is a great fit with the opportunity to pick up Curry and other pieces.  I think it's a very good trade for the Pick 2 Kings.

Definitely not knocking your end of the deal, I'm just defending it from my end in terms of the perceived value of the two guys in the actual league.

I dunno, Noah is more athletic, a better shot blocker, has better lateral movement and matches up better against other teams PF's than Gortat would.

I think for you its a relative no-brainer. For where you're at, and how hard it'd be to quickly turn your team into a contender based of of your second keeper and draft position, I think it makes sense to role the dice on a young standout like Evans.

I just guess I feel obliged to elaborate on my decision because I like Iguodala a lot more than most, and I like Evans a lot less.

I'm a big Noah guy as well, I definitely considered him at 1 and applauded the selection at 2.

Its Noah or Bogut. Healthy Noah was running roughshod through the league this year. The thing is, against bigger centers, he struggles big time. If you get Noah, you're going to want to get a bigger banger that will allow you to slide Noah over to the 4. He can still be the defense's QB, but he won't be exposed by guys like Andrew Bogut, Shaq, or Dwight Howard. And he absolutely gets exposed by Dwight Howard, every single time.

EDIT: Except in this hypothetical season after the CB Draft..in that scenario Noah never got hurt, he put on 20 lbs, and he destroyed Dwight Howard's Phoenix Gorillas in the NBA finals, but the Bulls team was wrongly jobbed by a biased officiating crew.

Everyone misses a pick once and a while. No worries. I've already got it marked down.

Same goes for Bahku, who kinda read my mind with the Felton pick, although Felton has kinda been terrible this past month, he'll bounce back.

Washington Sends: JaVale McGee
Memphis Sends: 2nd round pick

I'm not sure what I think of this.  I'd like to think that Washington could have gotten more value for one of its keepers than a mid-second, but maybe that's just not the case.  It's probably fair value, with the only question on whether Washington could have gotten more value for a better keeper, or whether Memphis could have gotten McGee later.  It's a toss up.

We looked around.  This was the 1st and best offer for any of our players.  We didn't name our player until we made an agreement.

With that said, we are quite happy with two picks in the 1st half of the 2nd.

I think a lot of folks probably had him pegged as the best guy left on the board.  I'm curious to see what you do with your back court; I think Felton and Jameer offer different things, depending upon what type of offense you want to put around Dwight.

This is the second straight year for the Durant / Westbrook / Brand trio.  I'm personally a fan, but that depends upon where you intend to play Brand.
