Would you trade Rondo for Griffin straight up?

If we only traded Rondo for Griffin I would say no... If we traded Rondo for Griffin and then was able to trade KG for a legit point guard then I might say yes... Griffin might get us more publicity on the ESPN highlight real but Rondo gives us a better chance at a championship with this team.

Griffin seems like he is an absolute franchise player. At this point I still don't think Rondo is. I think this would be impossible to pass up, and I'm not even sure if it would hurt our chances for a championship this year

Eh, id still rather have KG playing PF at this point. Would not want to trade such a valuable player of a different and equally important position for someone who is going to spend 2 years backing up KG.

In a vacuum, out of a vacuum, current situation, rebuilding situation, I take Rondo. Griffin had season ending surgery to repair a broken Kneecap. I recall a big guy named Oden (ironically, also a number #1 pick)who had surgery to repair a broken kneecap also. Ask the Blazers how that one worked out.

Rondo, even given his aggressive nature has had nothing like Griffin's injury. Little nicks here and there, but nothing close to career threatening. He's pretty durable, relatively speaking.

For that reason, alone, I like Rondo. People mention ceiling. When Rondo's jumpshot is completely established, he could be a franchise player, a HOF, perennial all-star and sometimes MVP candidate. His ceiling is as high if not higher than Griffin. I can't see Griffin a whole lot better than he is now (Which is pretty darn good, I will agree.)

Yes.  I'd try to figure out a way to get a better starting PG in here than Nate or Delonte, but Griffin is just too good to pass up.

It's his rookie season!! Just cause he's having a great one doesn't mean that he can't or isn't going to get better
