It was nice to see Lasme playing some significant minutes at the wing tonight. He did a nice job against Andre Iquodala and also played some great help defense.
Apologies for the hyperbole, but I see him being a guy who can come pretty close to guarding 5 positions out there.
In the press conference following tonight's game, the first words out of Doc's mouth were yet again in praise of Stephane Lasme. I don't want to get to attached, but that 15th spot seems to be in reach for the 28 year old rookie.
I only watched the first half of tonight's game thus far (will watch the rest after the ALDS), and I have to say I was very impressed with Lasme. Very.
Out of this one half that I saw thus far, he looks like he can definitely add depth at the 3 and the 4, like a poor man's Posey (minus the 3pt shot). His length and athleticism look incredible. He looks like he can finish nicely around the basket.
So what if he doesn't have much of an offensive game, he can score the same set up garbage points that TA did, and can probably defend 3's as well if not better. SG's will be defended by West, who is very good defensively.
I'm a fan. He reminds me of Powe in his demeanor, hunger and attitude.
Right now, I believe he can help the team more than Wafer or Harangody can.
