Odd statistic:  Lasme doesn't have a single steal or block this preseason.  (No turnovers, either, which is great.)

Underwhelming statistic:  Lasme has 2 points and 3 rebounds in his last two games, and has shot 1-for-5.

Wafer has looked terrible, but honestly, in the last two games has Lasme been that much better?  Is his play worthy of an NBA contract?

Lasme has been much better than what his stats say. He is the perfect 15th man for this team . Reminds me of a poor man's Ben Wallace

I vote for leaving the last spot open for Sheed's comeback in Feb.

Question:  Would Ben Wallace without the rebounding, and being asked to play SF, have been an NBA player?

(Oddly, Rick Pitino tried that out, and the answer was no.)

Like I've said a few times, I love the guy's energy and hustle.  I'd like to see him on the Red Claws.  However, based upon his sub-Scalabrine production, I don't see anything screaming out that he's an NBA player.

I'm leaning toward this.  However, if we have any leeway with Wafer's contract (i.e., if it becomes fully guaranteed in December, rather than with the first regular season game), I'd keep Wafer on board at least until Delonte is back playing.  After that, I'd consider cutting Wafer if he hasn't looked any better.

Right, except Rasheed is not coming back.

So since no one has addressed what Doc said after the last game, I guess what he said about Lasme is meaningless and basically we should never listen to what Doc says after games.

  • You say when......
Leon Powes stats;

Ht: 6' 8"  Wt: 240  Age: 26
Born: 1/22/1984, Oakland, California
College: California
Drafted: 2006 - Rd 2
(19th overall by the Nuggets)

So, isn't Lasme 6'8" also...? Yesssss he is.
Ht: 6' 8"  Wt: 220  Age: 27
Born: 12/17/1982, Port-Gentil, Gabon
College: Massachusetts
Drafted: 2007 - Rd 2
(16th overall by the Warriors)
looks like 20lbs diff.....so all we need is doc rivers to actually play him with some real players, mix him in with the first team...why not...see how that goes...heck it is only pre season...oh that will mix up the rotations...hahahha, okay, these guys aren't 12 years old anymore you know. The can adjust, they know the game, they know their team..best way to see what you got...besides, they put harangody with the 1st team, they put him with everyone...trying to MAKE him a player...what did BBD do his first year or two...not much. Lasme is way ahead of 1st year players......and who said they don't see him lasting a year...where is he going to go, back to planet Lasme..? "Heyyyy, where did that Lasme guy go, why he was here a minute ago, then WHOOOSH, gone..?"  Lasme biggest obstacle is docs lack of rotation and BBD favoritism, doc even was playing bbd over Powe until the deal got too big too hide..... "Hmmmm, lets see, dunk and rebounds, or blocked shots.......ya, blocked shots be better!" The first unit could use a guy who loves to rebound, instead of Rondo getting them all......!

What did he say exactly?

I'll also add that Doc said a lot of good things about POB and other various stiffs at times.

Lasme is two years older than Powe, doesn't rebound as well, isn't as strong as Powe, and isn't as good at scoring inside.

I fail to see the comparison and I don't see the point of playing him with the starting unit.

Lasme biggest obstacle is docs lack of rotation and BBD favoritism

It wasn't because of favoritism, it was because of defense.

Not to mention that Doc jerked both of their minutes around based on who was playing well at the time and match ups.

Its not like BBD hasn't proven to be a rotation player, just like Powe was pre-injury.

I'm not sure what your point is, but Tony by all reports was offered equivalent money to stay. He chose to go to Memphis.
