Seasons almost finished now: Dwight Howard the concencus #1 pick for next year?

Consensus?  I don't think so.  I'd still take Lebron.

I guess we'll have to see how the playoffs work, but the argument against him debate-wise (right or wrong) writes itself.

Me too. LeBron all the way.

Dwight is probably second but Dwyane Wade would garner some serious consideration. Possibly Durant too.

SO...anyone want to discuss the fragility and likely ability of injury of Andrew Bynum versus that of Greg Oden and Yao Ming?

Bynum has played in 50 games and since the All-Star break is putting up the following numbers:

31.3 MPG, 11.9 PPG, 12.8 RPG, 4.3 ORPG, 2.6 BPG, 0.6 SPG, 60% FG%.

I'd always take the dominant center over the dominant wing, even if I was the  1984 Houston Rockets.

Greg Monroe & Ed Davis are playoff ready...

Just ignore the rest of my winning-roster.

Nick, who else did you have I forget. I remember Bynum & Scola and that's it.

I can't say anything bad about Bynum, since he scored something like 6 points in garbage time to get me a win in my fantasy league semi-finals a couple weeks back.  My team was full of Lakers, Heat, and just about every other jerk in the NBA, but it won, which is all that matters. ;)

I'm sure a lot of us like our teams.  The Fake Kings looked good this year, with Rose and Boozer showing that they're a heck of a combo (and Zach Randolph leading the Grizzlies to the playoffs.)  I still think they'd beat the Fake Suns.  :D

Bench still kinda stinks, but ya, that starting five is daaaaaaaaaaaaang good. I can't remember much of anyone elses roster, but that has to be the best 5, right?

I'm curious, nick:  what lineup would you have run out there in the games both Bynum and Haslem were injured?

I'm guessing:

Scola
Chandler
Budinger (?)
Manu
Felton

The lack of any sort of big man depth would have hurt once Haslem went down, but StartOrien is right:  your starting lineup was definitely stellar (injuries to Bynum aside).

Seems reasonable. Also, Mahinmi would probably go from 6-8 MPG to about 15-20 during that period simply because he was the only center we would have had.

Lots of small ball and lots of three pointers during that stretch as we probably would have gotten outrebounded by a wide margin every night.

Of course, that was the beginning of the season when both Scola and Chandler were rebounding like monsters.

If Haslem can get back this year(big if I know)I would have liked this team's chances to win it all in our league. Meeks and Barbosa shooting from outside, Felton, Buddinger and Chandler doing their things, Scola, Bynum and Haslem down low and Manu as the star to make it all work. Pretty nice playoff rotation.

Again, I don't remember anyone else's rosters but I would put up this team versus any given what happened this year. I seem to remember the big tear down on this team was Bynum's ability to perform and stay healthy. I think that was answered.

Its funny, the Bynum thing kinda goes back to thoughts on good/bad trade thread.

I was DEF wrong about him, but I feel just in questioning his ability to last the season.
