In the playoffs?  Tough to say, but I think they have a real shot.

Nope, they wouldn't. Not that tough to say, sir. Not tough at all!

I will say that a lot of the arguments against my team versus IP's was that somehow Rudy was lazy and lacked the ability to be a number 2 scorer. With that being wrong, I'm not sure IP even beats me.
I'm still sure, IP had too much of an advantage defensively.

Still loving the Boxers:

Starters:

Andrew Bynum
Luis Scola
Wilson Chandler
Manu Ginobilli
Raymond Felton

Bench:

Leandro Barbosa
Jodie Meeks
Jerryd Bayless
Chase Budinger
Ian Mahinmi
Donte Greene
Jamal Magliore
Udonis Haslem - injured reserve

I definitely like this team.  The size off the bench is a weakness, but otherwise it's a deep, talented squad.  Of course, that presumes that Bynum finishes the season healthy, no sure thing.

I definitely see this as a top-4 team in the East, and probably higher.  Would they get by IP?  Right now, yes, with Noah and Jennings hurt.  In the playoffs?  Tough to say, but I think they have a real shot.
If I was able to move Meeks and Greene mid season for a bench big that could contribute, I think this team could win it all. Alas, no such thing will happen.

I heard Delonte is so good he can play three positions at the same time.

I still believe almost everyone missed the boat on the 8th seeded New Orleans Buccaneers, their chief claim to fame is that they lost by the postseason's worst margin. (Although at least to the eventual champs.)

Four players in the midst of breakout seasons: Eric Gordon, Dorell Wright, Al Horford and Jrue Holiday; a nine man rotation that features eight NBA starters; the class of 2010's second most talented rookie; the league's best rebounding team; a top 3 defense at worst; plus a much underrated offense that features five shooters on the floor at all times and willing, talented passers at every position, anchored until this week by the league's 8th leading scorer: Gordon who is also quietly putting up one of most efficient offensive efforts league-wide.

Also Stan Van Gundy's Buccaneer-best mustache.

I think no one was willing to buy Cousins staying even-keeled and a positive contributor for an entire season.

That, plus a very thin frontcourt (Kleiza at PF? Najera and Mozgov being of little use).

Very few people bought into DeMarcus Cousins, who has given the team almost exactly what I'd promised, which includes lots of fouls and turnovers, poor-ish shot selection and some tantrums. I'm surprised to hear criticism of my frontcourt though, as I don't remember that being brought up. In fact Phoenix was constantly switching to small ball in an effort to avoid unfavorable frontcourt match-ups. It was my offense that got knocked a lot.

Kleiza has had a rough go of it and is admittedly a better fit at the 3. But, as he's showing now with Tyrus Thomas out for the year, Gerald Wallace is still better at the 4 than half the league's natural power forwards, even if it's a bit nerve-wracking.

I'd still throw a 5/4 rotation of Horford, Cousins, McDyess, Wallace & Kleiza in spot duty, against anybody else's top 4.

Also, I ought to have kept 14th man Earl Boykins. I knew that at the time and kept Najera largely out of concerns about my size on the bench. Oh well.

Definitely some breakout seasons by some of your players. I suspect (but don't recall) that there were concerns about Wallace's durability as well. Tough to shake that reputation, although he's not missed any time this year.

On the whole, I think your team probably is doing better than was originally forecasted. Although Gordon's recent injury is unfortunate.

As long as we're revisiting, here are the Houston Rockets, with original forecasted minutes in parentheses:

PG:  Parker (30), Sessions (18)
SG:  Afflalo (24), Mayo (24)
SF:  Granger (35), Jerebko (13)
PF:  Diaw (20), Hickson (20), Jerebko (8 )
C:   Dalembert (28), Pachulia (20)

Afflalo having a great year, so Mayo's crappiness is mitigated. Sessions doing well taking over for Mo Williams this year; a more than able backup to the Frenchman.

Dalembert a disappointment, but Hickson taking over for Varejao in Cleveland also softens that blow. He gets minutes at C and perhaps starting PF, depending on matchups.

Jerebko's loss means more minutes for Austin Daye behind Granger. And perhaps at SG over Mayo.

Not pictured: Trenton Hassell not in the league, and Dan Gadzuric not doing much in GState.

I'd shorten the rotation to 8, while I continue to shop Mayo around for another big or a wing.

Ah, yes, the team that beat me out for the division title. Parker is, in many ways, having a career year despite some personal turmoil. Sessions is one of the league's better back ups. And I still love an Afflalo/Mayo tandem at the 2. (Though O.J. has been something of a distraction in Memphis this season. I'd thought he'd put that talk to rest.)

How has Granger looked? I haven't see much of the Pacers, I know that they're struggling amidst calls for Obie's job. But he's always been a player I liked. Diaw is a taken-for-granted plus defender and passer who could also give the Rockets some minutes at the 5 (admittedly the team's thinnest position). I still like Houston to make the playoffs. I need to look back at the match-up.
