Good times in Sacramento, where our starting center is taking the preseason off and our starting power forward broke his hand.  At least Zach Randolph is pumped, being the team's de facto starting for the next 6 weeks.

However, Rashard Lewis seems to be dispelling the "he can't play SF" rumors.

If its any consollation, Zack Randolph is an awesome teammate in 2k11. Now Tony Allen on the other hand....

Have the Fake Bulls signed Semih Erden yet?  He's better than probably 3/4 of the players on their bench. ;)

Broke his hand in an incident that's now under investigation!?!

Well Cousins's 16 and 16 preseason performance probably boosted your own bitterness if nothing else, huh?

Cousins, last 3 games:
17pts, 11rebs, 1 block, 6 fouls, 25 mins
15pts, 3 rebs, 6 fouls, 21 minutes
16 pts, 16 rebs, 5 TO's, 5 Fls, 30 mins

Me bitter?

The Walker Wiggle aka Dubs aka CB's sorest loser.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Quote from: ESPN Rumors
The Bulls signed 2008 draft pick Omer Asik this summer, and before camp he was a bit of an unknown commodity.

Would he slot behind Joakim Noah and Kurt Thomas on the depth chart as the third center, and learn the NBA as a deep reserve in his first season? Or would he be able to contribute out the gate?

So far, the 7-foot center has shown the ability to immediately contribute by flashing a high basketball IQ, sound fundamentals and a good motor in the early going for Chicago, though he's had some lapses.

"He's doing a lot of things that can really help our team," Joakim Noah told the Chicago Tribune. "His best asset is he wants to learn, he wants to get better. You can't teach that size. And he can really move. He puts in a lot of extra work. He's hungry to become a big-time player. As long as he stays humble and hungry and driven, I think it's going to get real scary when it's right."

Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau paired Noah and Asik together for stretches in Friday's win over the Wizards and Tuesday's win over the Raptors, giving the Bulls a large, lengthy and active frontcourt that can run the floor. In 19 minutes Tuesday, Asik had nine points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Don't be surprised if Thibodeau continues to go with them together in the frontcourt at times, depending on matchups.

With Carlos Boozer out with a hand injury likely through November, Taj Gibson will start at power forward -- meaning he'll no longer be the first frontcourt reserve off the bench.

For now, it looks like that role will fall to Asik. And when Boozer is back and healthy, the Bulls could be finding themselves with two quality frontcourt reserves between their rookie center and Gibson -- which should serve them well in the regular season and beyond.

You doubted Ersan Ilyasova last season, and you doubt my Omer Asik selection this season??? Fools!!

"You've gotta respect a 15-percent 3-point shooter. A guy
like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

IP brought it up in another thread, thought it'd be fun to revisit the teams 1/8th of the way through the season. I think it's fair to say that I wouldn't be #1 in the Power Rankings any longer:

Dwight Howard / Greg Monroe
Antawn Jamison / Ed Davis
John Salmons / Hedo Turkoglu / Deshawn Stephenson
Wesley Matthews / Rudy Fernandez / Terrence Williams
Baron Davis / Dominique Jones

The good news is that Dwight Howard offense looks a little improved and Wesley Matthews looks like he deserved 2/3rds of the contract he got.

The bad news is... everything else.

Anyone feel like tooting their horn and showing how everyone was WICKED STUPID for not seeing your beautiful vision. I'd be interested to see how other teams have faired in this YOUNG season.

Hey, Turkoglu had a really good game last night!  1 out of 9 ain't bad.   ;)

I'm not involved with the draft, but this is why I think it should have postseason voting too.  As it is, it's like deciding the BCS champ by a preseason poll.

PG:  Tony Parker/Ramon Sessions
SG:  Arron Afflalo/OJ Mayo/Trenton Hassell
SF:  Danny Granger/Jonas Jerebko/Austin Daye
PF:  Boris Diaw/JJ Hickson
C:   Sam Dalembert/Zaza Pachulia/Dan Gadzuric

The good: Leaders Parker and Granger performing as expected. Afflalo and Hickson both showing promise.

The bad: Mayo and Diaw a little sluggish, Dalembert too (although now starting). Daye still green.

The ugly: Jerebko lost for the season, just minutes into his first game.

I think I'm still where I was originally voted. My depth is what made me a contender, and my roster flexibility mitigates against the slow starters and underperformers.

Considering how few votes we got for the draft as is, it'd be hard to gather the GMS for a revote.

I think we'd be roughly the same:
Guards: It's not like anyone was giving me credit for having Chris Duhon. Stuckey has been playing well( More dimes comparable turnovers and points) Price and Head are price and Head.
Forwards: Amar'e's 20/8 don't worry me. The people who said he was soft weren't swayed by Okafor being next to him which i think would have a huge effect. Gay has been the man for Memphis and probably surprised some people who didn't believe in him. Battier has been producing similarly in slightly reduced minutes ( only points have gone down and I wasn't looking for that from him) Tolliver is producing similarly in significantly reduced minutes. Young and Wilkins are Young and Wilkins.
Centers: Okafor has been playing very well this year and is part of NO's revamped D. He's also proved he can pick a weaker defender apart in the post. Blair has been disappointing especially his FG%. Orton has yet to play a minuite... BOO YAH!

I think we'd be roughly where we were.

Well the good and bad of the Boxers

Good - the fivesome of Luis Scola, Wilson Chandler, Udonis Haslem, Manu Ginobili and Raymond Felton might just be playing about as well as I could have ever imagined. Also coming off the bench Chase Buddinger, Jodie Meeks, Leandro Barbosa and Jerryd Bayless have been average to good as bench performers.

Bad - Andrew Bynum is still out and the other bigs(Donte Greene, Ian Mahinmi, Jammal Magliore have been awful. So maybe the Boxers might have been good but it is obvious that long term a healthy Bynum is necessary.

Outlook - if Bynum comes back and remains healthy and the productive player he usually is when he is healthy, and the rest of the nine players in the rotation continue their good to excellent play, the Boxers look very much like a deep playoff team. No Bynum, no deep playoff run or even a playoff run as Scola and Haslem can't play 40+ minutes the whole year.
