Reconsidering the Fake Chicago Bulls:
PG: Brandon Jennings (starter), Eric Maynor (backup)
-Brandon Jennings has upped his FG% to over 39%, while keeping up a decent clip from outside. He's kept his assists totals pretty even, and has done this all with the Bucks decimated by injury, forcing Jennings to often be the go-to scorer, which he has managed to do. He's currently averaging 18 points and 5.6 assists per contest. Eric Maynor is also playing very well this season, adding a 3pt shot (40% from deep) to go with his usual sound defense. He's averaging more points this season in less time, and he's still managed to carve out around 15 minutes per contest despite Russell Westbrook's stellar play, because with Maynor's new found range and his height he can play some time at the 2 guard also, which the Fake Bulls desperately need.
SG: Landry Fields (starter), Von Wafer, Tony Allen, Eric Maynor
-Landry Fields is averaging 30 minutes per game, and putting together a solid 11 points and 7 rebounds to go with that. His 3pt shooting has fallen off a little after a hot start to the season, but his surprising play all over the court has forced Mike D'Antoni to keep Fields in the starting spot. Tony Allen and Von Wafer both kind of suck right now, but at least Allen has proved he can play 20 minutes of burn at the 2/3 at a NBA level.
SF: LeBron James (Starter), Tony Allen, Landry Fields
-Ugh, whatever. This team much more closely resembles Cleveland than Miami. The fake Bulls have an above average PG, and a top 3 center...the Heat have an under-achieving Dywane Wade and Chris Bosh. Yes, LeBron is a jerk but whatever.
PF: Ersan Ilyasova (starter), Gani Lawal, LeBron James
-Easily Chicago's weakest position. This, however, is not the dire forecast it was at the beginning of the season. As a starting PF for the Bucks (due to injury), Ilyasova is averaging 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3.3 assists in an average of 41 minutes per game (which bodes well for him reducing his foul rate). He's also shooting 42% from 3pt range as a starter. This is only over a 3 game spread, but if he keeps it up Ilyasova will make me look good yet.
C: Joakim Noah (starter), Omer Asik
-Before the season, Amundson's injury would've been a death knell for this team, but Joakim Noah has kind of saved it single-handedly. He's averaging 38 minutes per contest, with 15.6 points and 12.4 rebounds, and has cut his fouls to just 3 over those 38 minutes. Omer Asik has also proven himself to be a valid rotation player at the 5. There are still some growing pains, but even when Louis Amundson comes back, I will probably still give Asik 10 mins+ of burn.
Injuries: Michael Redd-who knows. Mike Miller-One more month. Louis Amundson-Returns December 7th, which will really bolster the Bulls' front line.
We comin' Y'ALL!
