Come to think of it, you're probably right. Salmons & Jamison's scoring is too erratic.
Its just the combination of poor play by pretty much all of your designated offensive players.

Jamison/Salmons/Davis have all varied between injured, meh play, and terrible play.

Still loving my Boxers, though the center position has been a washout due to injuries to Bynum and Haslem. But with Bynum back soon.......

Felton and Bayless
Ginobili and Barbosa and Meeks
Chandler and Budinger
Scola and Greene
Bynum and Mahinmi

Probably have lost a ton of games with Bynum and Haslem out together but with Bynum back tonight, things will be looking up.

In my constantly changing lineup, I'm probably looking at

Fat Baron / T-Williams
D Stevenson / Salmons/ Rudy Fernandez
Wes Matthews / Hedo
Jamison/ Ed Davis
Howard / Greg Monroe

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Ilyasova is finally starting to play like he was last season (now that he's getting regular minutes), and Jennings TS% is up above 50%. On top of that Landry Fields is top 20 in PER among shooting guards and LeBron James is far and away the best SF so far this season.

Louis Amundson just came back and Mike Miller is ahead of schedule? I'm feeling less guilty about my finish by the day.

Jennings/Maynor
Fields/T Allen/Wafer
James/T Allen
Ilyasova/Amundson
Noah/Asik

I imagine with Meeks play, you'd be looking to move one of Barbosa or Meeks for a 4 now, huh?

Meanwhile I feel more and more guilty by the day. I think I did a good job trading, I still think thats a really deep 12, but did a miserable job evaluating talent. I missed on pretty much every pick I made outside of Matthews & Howard.

Absolutely IP.

Someone like Big Baby would look awfully good on this team, of course so would a healthy Haslem, but, injuries are a part of the game.

And I have to say my biggest surprise is the play of Chandler on both ends of the floor. He's become a weapon on the three point line and his defense and rebounding have taken a nice step forward.

You got a steal in Landry Fields IP. Nice pickup there. I mean maybe the best value pick up of the draft.

Well some of the guys underperforming in the roles you gave them is to be expected, Greg Monroe, Ed Davis (although Davis doesn't flat out stink), and Hedo are the biggest ones at fault.

But some of your guys you had no idea. Whether it was John Salmons injury, Baron Davis's cellulite, or Terrance Williams sudden rash of being a tool to Avery Johnson, there was really no way to see that stuff coming.

Baron Davis and John Salmons looked like savvy pickups to me, count me among those who expected Davis to have a good year this season.

I just compared Wilson Chandler to Iguoadala. THat's who he reminds me of..not quite as athletic as iggy, but he's shoting 37% from deep to Iggy's less than 35.

I'm so happy I read that obscure NY article where Mike D'Antoni said something random about "really liking Landry Fields" and that he was a "dark horse to start".

I can't get myself to watch Pistons games, but I do check out their box scores pretty regularily to check in on Greg Monroe. Anyone know if his numbers are inflated b/c the teams so bad, or is he just playing OK - slightly erratic?

Well David Thorpe has him ranked as #7 behind Gary Neal and Gary Forbes, saying about Forbes at #5 "Forbes being this high shows how bad this class is playing"

So I don't know what to make of that. Monroe has had some good habits and some bad habits I imagine.

Me and Stan Van *tried* to tell you otherwise.

In other NOLA Bucs news - Crash is already gassed, which is worrisome. More minutes for Dorell "Crash, Jr." Wright I guess.

I think he's playing quite well for a first year player. Crashes the boards and hustles on the offensive end.

A little green on defense. But I think he's learning well at the feet of Ben Wallace. They are essentially splitting minutes at C.

The Pistons are doing a horrific job bringing Monroe along. He never gets to play alongside Big Ben. He is frequently alongside their worst defensive players (Villanueva, Bynum, B.Gordon, Wilcox, McGrady). They won't start him despite Monroe being their best option for that starting unit (with Big Ben at PF).

It's adversely effected his play and slowed down his development.

Offensively, he is extremely inconsistent and often underused. On the boards, he's average. Defensively, he's poor.

I am hugely disappointed in John Kuester. I was genuinely excited about him stepping up to the head coaching seat but he has been a complete and utter train wreck since the day he took the job. Detroit badly needs to dump him.
