Just a suggestion, but perhaps a new thread announcing where to vote as well as links to all the individual pressers and the roster thread might be a good idea, not only for GMs who want as much info before putting there ballots together but also to get word out to the general blog to come vote.

This just seems to be lost on the last page of one of many threads on the subject.

Are the rosters on the 'official rosters & transactions' thread acurate?

Also, do we have to vote one team into our top 8 in each division?
The rosters aren't accurate for all teams, I encourage every GM to check them.

When in doubt you should use their press conferences as a guide to their true roster.

You do not have to rank a team in each division in your top 8. Frankly though I'd demand some justification, I don't think there is a single division that lacks for a playoff team.
Well, unless of course you are in a division that has been universally hailed as poor and you have the only team in the division that is playoff worthy. Then, if you can't vote for yourself, it is pretty possible for it to happen.

That is a scenario I can see happening, I forgot about the excluding your own team.

I will say though I still don't think it should happen.

Regardless real NBA seeding rules apply. I team with the 9th best record can have the 4th seed if its tops in its division, but they'd be without HCA.

Should we send the justification to you, or leave it as a part of our rankings.

Just send in your rankings, I'll let you know if I want an explanation of your ballot.

I don't anticipate asking much, I'll just be looking at things and saying "does this make sense". I'm only looking for spiking of rivals, not people's opinions I disagree with.

Rankings are submitted: 95% personal, 5% business

I'll post my playoff rankings a little bit later. I thought the East vs. West was very similar to the real conferences. East is stacked with top talent, but there's a huge dropoff. Whereas the West isn't neccesarily stacked, but has 11 teams I'd consider 'playoff worthy.'

Actually, should we be posting our playoff or overall seedings at all? I thought Faf wanted to keep that info quiet until he released the results and the votes afterward?

How else will I be able to accuse people of 'hating' and/or severely underrating the impact (player x) will have on this season?!

The idea was for a secret ballot initially to avoid voting counting and the subsequent shenanigans that went on. Then all Votes would be posted publically.

I have no problem if some members want to put their ballot (or rankings) out there on their own.

I forgot to copy my rankings, so these could be a tad off. They're definitely the 8 I selected though.

I know that could come through as careless, but I thought 3 through 6 were really, really close. And I probably flipped 7 and 8 a dozen times.

EAST

1. Orlando Magic
2. Chiago Bulls
3. Milwakee Bucks
4. Seattle Sonics
5. Washington Wizards
6. Indiana Pacers
7. Atlanta Hawks
8. Miami Heat

So you have the Heat missing the playoffs with the 8th best record, sucks for South Beach in fake NBA then.

Ya, I had Toronto coming out of the Atlantic. But I thought every team out of the Atlantic had too many question marks to rank in the top 8. Whereas, there are more certains about at team like Miami. Worst case scenario they're a .500 team.

To be clear, I think your team could definitely exceed .500. What I'm saying is that if all of the questions about your team turn into a negative you're surfing around .500. Whereas the questions about teams like the Raptors and Knicks are the difference between them being a good to very good team and a bad to extremely bad team.
