Kobe is no longer the best basketball player, he's just the best player on the best team. Wade's just better now, has been for two years.

My first reactions: Dwight Howard is the best value pick thus far. While Wade as the 5th pick is exactly right.

Duncan at 6 - as the first half of a busted trade - obviously courts controversy but he's anyway a proven winner, the savviest big man in the league, and still guarantees his team a post-season appearance - knee-brace or no.

Quote from: Dwayne Wade
I believe that Kobe Bryant is still the best player in the game, his experience and his overall talent.

so my pick is good? I was prompt and in my opinion I stole Melo he should of went when Duncan went! I was debating on him and who I think should be the next pick and as you all know I covet him!

Well, you weren't prompt ;) -- you were a couple of minutes late -- but the pick does count.  Carmelo is an excellent pick.

You weren't prompt, I was seriously 30 seconds from picking for you.

Your pick is valid and the big board on the first page is up to date.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Portland Trailblazers Select: Brook Lopez

First big surprise of the day. Big talent is tough to find, and big, young talent is even tougher...but can Lopez be the #1 guy on a winning team? This is a pick that we'll need the full year to correct assess, says I.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Thank you Walker Wiggle.  TP for helping the underdog here  ;D

the Cleveland Cavs are proud to select...

      Carmelo Anthony

This is definitely the best value pick of the draft so far in my mind.

A 3rd and a 4th for a top-15 pick will get vetoed every time, Gomesfan.

9 (9)    10:50am Boston Celtics (riah32) Rajon Rondo
10 (10) 11:00am   Portland Trailblazers (Jsaad) Brook Lopez

Wow, my draft board is already a mess... I think difficult to argue that either Rondo or Lopez is a top 10 talent today. But both guarantee All Star-level production for the next ten years.

I'd like to endorse the way Dwayne Wade posted his comment.... I think saying "I believe X is better than Y" will lead to fewer arguments throughout the draft than "X is better than Y, that's just a fact".

Thanks for being a positive influence on Celticsblog Draft 2010 DWade :)

(not that it matters but you were 4th on my board (but 2-4 were pretty close)  ;))
