Boo, Kobe!

I think Wade at #5 may end up being the best pick in the entire draft.

I know I'm setting myself up for losing this popularity contest celticsblog draft by taking kobe over wade, but like I said, I'm sticking with drafting the best basketball players when available, not the most popular.  ;D

Then why didn't you draft Dwayne Wade?

I passed on Dwyane strictly because I don't like the way he spells his name.

I know, right? #1, Wayne is spelled Wayne, not Wyane. The y can't be hopping around all namby-pamby!

#2, how do you get the sound "doo" from "dw". Dwight. Dwale...none of those words start out with the sound "doo". I would be like if someone spelled their name "Myckhale" and said it was pronounced "michael".

Because I'm sticking with drafting the best overall basketball player;D  (This could go on for a while, so I'll let you reiterate your question again then stop haha)

Faf, I'd like to hear your top 5 after they've all been drafted.  Hard to imagine the player who leads his team to 3 straight NBA finals, back to back defending champion (and finals MVP) is not in there.  Unless Pau Gasol is in your top 5???

I know.  At least google is in agreement on our side and just brings us to him.

The big board is up to date.

Celticinorlando has been picked for by proxy and will have to grovel to get his franchise back due to missing it.  ;)

Gomesfan/crownsy you are on the clock!

I think this should probably be something voters consider. Talent, perceived chemistry, and proper spelling of your name.

Who was going to be the auto-pick.

In the future I'm going to pull the trigger on picks made for people a little quicker though to keep the draft moving.

Glad I ddin't have to!

At the same time, (for new owners...) i believe there is nothing to stop folks behind that person from picking once the alloted time has passed, they don't have to wait for you or roy to announce the pick's been missed.

Yep.  Once somebody's time has expired (i.e., one minute after the time listed for their draft slot), the next GM in line can pick.

Discussing players still available is not allowed.

I'd like to say though that the Celtics almost beat the Lakers in the Finals. They also beat Howard's team, Wade's team, and LeBron's team.

Kobe is no longer the best basketball player, he's just the best player on the best team. Wade's just better now, has been for two years.

Yep, I agree.  The celtics beat Lebron's team (in 6), Wade's team (in 5), the Magic (in 6), and did not beat the Lakers as much as it saddens me to say.

I think this argument of Kobe vs. Wade is similar to the argument of KG vs. Duncan earlier in the decade.  KG had the much more athletic and sexier game with better stats (Wade) and Duncan had the more refined game and championships to go with it (Kobe).  It comes down to preference really.  Who knows, maybe KG would have won titles if he had been the Spurs PF, maybe he wouldn't have.  Maybe Wade would have 2 more titles if he were the lakers SG, maybe he wouldn't.  All we know for sure is that Kobe does.  Very, if not completely, subjective argument and I knew I was going to be on the unpopular side of it for a while.

so my pick is good? I was prompt and in my opinion I stole Melo he should of went when Duncan went! I was debating on him and who I think should be the next pick and as you all know I covet him!
