This would get me extremely pumped. (Crosses fingers, throws salt over shoulder, pets his all-black cat-monster, and knocks on wood).

This will be an excellent signing if Shaq is here to be the backup center and play 10-15 minutes a night.

If Shaq is here to play as a starter and play 20-25 minutes a night ... then I do not like this signing.

He can't play 25 good minutes at this point.

Trying to keep my hopes in check until things are official.............

As to minutes; 20-22 is fine until Perk gets back, then it'll probably drop back.  18MPG average for the season seems about right to me, more on some nights and against certain matchups.

Very interesting development.
Really solidifies the Cs bench if true.
I'm also very curious about salary...
Celtics fan for life.

Wow.  I am not a huge fan of this from a personality, as well as basketball perspective (I don't know how well he will mesh with the system)...but it sure would be fun.  And honestly, it is the kind of high reward type move (we can determine the risk when we hear what the deal is) that this team probably needs to do to compete with Miami and LA.

I personally don't think it will work out great, but it has the potential to be spectacular, if they can make it work.  And given where they stand right now, I guess, why not swing for the fences.  I was a proponent of the Marbury signing for a similar reason, so I certainly can't argue against this too hard.
