What could we realistically be offering for Rudy Fernandez?(UPDATE on 1st page)

Is this 3-team trade feasible?

Celtics
give up: Sheed's contract, 1st rd pick, 2nd rd pick
receive: Shaq, Rudy

Blazers
give up: Rudy
receive: 1st rd pick, 2nd rd pick

Cavs
give up: no one. S+T with Shaq for around $6mil
receive: Sheed's contract



It isn't a messy trade and everybody "wins". C's get their shooter and big man. Blazers get their draft picks in what pretty much amounts to a salary dump. The sticking point is the Cavs. While i dont know why the Cavs would want to get Sheed's retiring contract when they have tons of cap space already, stranger things have happened? or maybe the Celtics can trade away another 2nd rounder or cash considerations to Cleveland for their trouble. Teams have done that before.

Yeah, I don't see the Cavs doing anything out of the goodness of their hearts. 

I think more likely we're going to have to give up something.  a second rounder might do it if they're feeling charitable (or at least hoping we can take our Miami). 

However, unless they can dump some salary or get something in return, I don't see them doing anything just for the heck of it.

If i'm not mistaken, Cleveland and Toronto both got huge trade exceptions for their trouble and also a 2nd rounder or cash.

I am sure a second round pick and cash considerations would be worth Cleveland's while. Can't see why a team would turn down a free second round pick....

cavs don't have cap space, cos of the trade exception they got in the lebron trade. they have a full mle also. 

lebron really screw them with the "decison" if he were an honest man at least they could of made a run @ rudy gay or something, I'm surpised they gave him a s&t, no wonder gilbert was p---ed, maybe gilbert will be motivated by hatred of the heat.

Btw i'm starting to get the feeling sheed's contract isn't as tradeable as ppl think, maybe we can negotiate a buy out clause, that would make it more tradeable.
