daldridgetnt    Wizards re-sign Josh Howard, according to Howard's consultant. One year.
less than 5 seconds ago via web

Yet another wing off the market. Maybe this means that we are close on getting rudy fernandez..Howard chose to resign cuz we were moving in a dif direction? Either way we need to grab another wing quick.

Josh didn't like the idea of trying to win?
More likely is that the C's either decided to go another direction based on medical information or would only trade Sheed's deal for him if it was a more team friendly contract. (additional years at team option for relatively low money for Howard)

Just back from a long weekend vacation to find some great news on CB!

Yes, yes, yes, Rudy is worth more than a late 1st round pick that usually amounts to a role player that might not even be rotation worthy years down the road.  Rudy is an NBA starting-quality SG, a near-ideal complement to Rondo, has great length for his position at 6-6, and could work out beautifully as the #3 wing this season and as a starter on his next contract.

He's probably a better option/fit than pretty much any of the FA's, too.  If Nate continues to develop a team-first (unselfish) game, then that second unit should have no trouble scoring, making last season's scoring droughts nothing but a painful memory.

I like it.  Let's keep fingers crossed.

I'm curious what it's going to take.

A #1 is no big deal as the future is now.  But if it's Sheed, we're going to have to take back someone else.

Will they make this a bigger deal that includes the likes of BBD or Avery Bradley?

If Portland wants a likely mid-first round pick (one likely to be in the 13-16 range) or equivalent value, what would the Celtics have to add to a likely late first round pick to make up for the difference?  If the Celtics had another team's pick that was probably going to be in that range, would you be willing to part with it?

True.  But let's also look at the facts: he averaged 23 mpg last year and 25 mpg the year before.  With Paul and Ray starting and Marquis in the fold, I could see him getting even fewer minutes here.

I guess the one upside for him is that he only has to wait behind Ray for two years, whereas he's perpetually stuck behind Roy.

Still, I'm not sure that Boston is the place for him to find minutes.  But I'd still deal for him.  We can worry about that later.

Who hacked Jeff's account and proposed Baby for Oden with a straight face?

Rudy is definitely worth a #1 for this team.  His game fits Rondo like a T and his passing ability will be a nice asset off the bench.

I'd love to expand the deal to include Joel P.  He'd be a great asset for the playoffs.  No one could trot out a bigger, better 4 man big rotation than KG/Perk/JO/Przybilla.

Baby/Sheed/1st rounder for Rudy/Joel works and makes sense for both teams, provided the Celtics have a decent big (James Singleton, Kwame Brown) lined up for the vet min.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF:
PF: Pau Gasol
C: Yao Ming

first let us see kp healthy

and because that will not happend until after mid season

then make sure you got a backup Center not called JO just in case
then think seriously about rudy, he most likely deserve the first rounder

then if not available get a better wing help over marquis

never see Scal again ( now you have harangody)

try to move BBD for someone with more ... size
I dont care if he stay

Get delonte

then make a rotation of

Rondo  Nate       Avery
Ray    Delonte or Daniels
Pierce Fernandez
KG     JO          Harangody
Shaq   *sheed      Perk

Is it posible...I think it is.
Do you think Wade Boshie and Bronnie can match against this
I think they cant
Rondo

No.  A #1 pick is not worth it, unless it is heavily protected (ie: no chance the Blazers get it unless it is #25 or higher...).
Celtics fan for life.

You're not going to get Fernandez AND Shaq, Sheed's deal is going to one of them. And Delonte won't sign for the vet min when he can stay with the Cavs for more. Also, we only get Delonte with Shaq if they go together in Sheed's deal + the first round pick you would use on Fernandez.

This idea is NOT going to happen.
Never stop believing baby~

Joel blew out his knee in December, then slipped in the shower and had to have the surgery redone in March.  That could be a serious issue but same for Perk.

Another did you know is that he actually shot 37% from free throw line in 43 games in 2006-2007.  He has improved since then.

I think the if in the if healthy is just too big an if.

Youre right *p.s. no need for caps
Delonte is out of cavs last time I checked
and if noone agreed with vet min
why not prizxbilla or a towel
with the rest of the team i certanly dont care about shaq
as much as i love to have him here just for the mojo

i'm speculating here but i think the real reason is that Josh Howard felt he could get more PT in the Wiz and that he felt loyalty with the Wiz. (in his own words: the team that got him out of Dallas)
