I'm afraid he'll bolt and go to Europe. How can anyone guarantee that he won't? He sure whines a heck of a lot. Then it'll be double lose. No player & No pick. Just wait for Delonte. I'll take that risk any day, instead off giving up a First for this bum. He can take his behind back to Europe.

Change,
He and his agent have been pushing for a trade OR he'd request a buyout to go to Spain. Boston was one of the teams he's been interested in so I'd think he'd happy. Yes, he'd have a bench role here but a goal of ours for next season should be to keep Ray's mins down so there'd be mins for him - moreso than in Port playing behind Roy and now Wes Matthews.

And yes, he's worth a first rounder imo
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

If they have to take a buyout from a spanish team Portland will get nothing. This makes me believe that the price could be lowered.

One area where Ainge was weak is scouting European players. After Dino Radja there was no quality European (please dont mention Potapenko or Welsch) on Celtics roster. I would much rather have Fernandez then Josh Howard. Great shooter, solid passer and ballhandler...playing with Rondo would be awesome to him...

Which #1 pick would you offer for Fernandez?  Next year's is probably not worth that much due to all those players who came out early to get paid instead of being drafted in a lockout year.  Would you be willing to offer next year's second-round pick plus 2012 or 2013's first-round pick with minimal lottery protection?

On a scale of 1-10, how would people rate his athleticism?

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Rudy is the perfect backup for Ray since he duplicates just about everything Ray does at this point. At 25 he's just about the same age as Rondo and he's a very nice athlete to boot. I seriously can't believe this guy isn't good when he's such a great player in europe. IMO, playing with Rondo in Doc's offense is exactly what he needs for a break out year.

I'd take any of Pryzbilla, Camby or Oden (I'd definitely giveup an unprotected pick for)

Get it done. Should be a huge upgrade over House and TA. Nate, Rudy, Marquis would be super second unit. He does love to run the break and is great spotting up or taking it strong to the hole.

I'm hoping its more of Avery, Nate Rob, Rudy by season's end.

I don't like the idea of playing three undersized players with two of them out of position.

I feel like in the second half of the season Nate, Rudy, Quis, Baby and O'Neal is a great second unit. You have shooting, speed defense and rebounding in that unit. I feel like given Rudy's length he could really turn into a good defender in Boston.

More importantly he's a guard that can get out and run with Rondo.

Yet another wing off the market. Maybe this means that we are close on getting rudy fernandez..Howard chose to resign cuz we were moving in a dif direction? Either way we need to grab another wing quick.

I'm really excited if the C's can land Rudy, he'd be a big addition to the bench.

I don't like the idea of playing Nate/Avery together. One should be taking up the backup PG minutes. If Avery is playing the 2 he certainly shouldn't be paired with an undersized SF!

Josh didn't like the idea of trying to win?

I agree that is a strong 2nd. I also agree that Rudy's D should improve playing with this team. A good defender? Maybe not but an adequate defender, yes. I strongly agree that the 2nd unit will key for the C's. 1st off: Starters need to be rested/healthy for playoffs. 2nd: Our bench needs to step up and help win games now and then. Nate & BB showed flashes of that against Orlando/Lakers but it wasn't enough. A deep and talented bench will do wonders to keep this team fresh & competing at elite levels the next two years.

Now is the time to take chances on players who could develop into starters, the Big 3 won't play forever. We don't want to hit summer 2012 with no one but PP & Rondo. The FA game-plan doesn't always work (see Knicks, New York 2010).
