What? Let him go? Why? So Scal or Goaty can replace him?

Go watch the playoffs again man..

And I mean really if we are counting on 1 bench player to win a finals series for us we're retarded... Maybe if rondo hit some free throws, or if ray allen didnt go 0-10,000 in the finals we would have won..

Kinda retarded to blame your back-up to the back-up big for a finals loss lol
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

It is that no other team really wants an overweight, underhieght player...did we over pay him..you bet....a "spark" plaer will get a few hot moments...until the other team has to D him up...then he'll get nothing.....except his shot blocked a million times....like we have already seen...he really has...not much to offer..he is a 1-3 mill player..as these ridiculous salaries go.....an "in-shape" clause should be in EVERY players contract....it is just implied...but as the world goes......not following the rules and being rewarded is now the norm......"sure i will represent you..once i get in office/team"  never heard that b4.....  Fat boy will be back..i mean the "big boned guy...slow metabolism..no, how about "he uses his body well"......hahahaha, for what, getting first in line at the buffet...?   they should put all his meals on an 11 foot high ledge...!

I don't get the Big Baby hate...especially after he just had his best year by a long shot.

Reasons he's legit:

  • He can create his own offense against starters and bench guys.
  • He can finish around the rim and has soft hands to handle passes in traffic.
  • He is shockingly quick footed and graceful for his size.
  • He has good range for a big man.
  • He doesn't shy away from a big shot when he's open.
  • He consistently grabs boards on offense and defense.
  • He effectively uses his strength defensively.
  • He's great at taking charges.
  • He uses his strength to wear guys down.
  • He has a solid basketball IQ and knowledge of positioning.
  • He hustles.
  • He gets his teammates excited.
  • He has personality.

I get that he's short for the position and doesn't jump well. And he had a tough couple of games against the Lakers (don't think there's a worse matchup for him than Pau and Bynum). But he also consistently beat Odom and Artest whenever the Lakers were dumb enough to put them on him. And Game 7 wasn't just on him. Everyone off the bench except Sheed looked lost. Baby is not the problem.

Not sure how people can hate on Baby after the playoffs he put together. He's getting better every year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

The season is 82 games long. Sheed was awesome towards the end of the playoffs, but he had an awful regular season. If he plays it'll be in limited minutes until the games start to matter.

Sheed may have had a pretty bad 1st half of the regular season, but it was still a lot better than Davis' lol.  Sorry, had to.

Honestly, I don't mind Davis on the team, and the only reason I don't want him is so I stop seeing "Davis is the future PF of the Celtics," and similar threads.  If he's not on the team then there isn't that threat.  If it weren't for that overrated mentality then I would welcome him more.

Baby backers make garbage points just like Baby himself. If your excuse is game 7 isn't his fault, fine. We will agree to disagree. I guess the game wasn't going great before he stepped on the court. The excuse to blame the other four players is valid, they should be use to Baby by now. Although while you keep giving me his strong points as to why he's still here,it's completely lost on me. All I care about is what he provides this team. I asked because this team struggles on both sides of the ball when he's on the court. In two years, the bigs capable of helping us win championships have gone down to injury, crippling our chances of finishing with a ring.

It never crossed my mind that Baby cost us Game 7. Losses are a collective effort. Had the team bothered to get off the plane and show up for Games 3 or 6 we could have ended this thing in a lopsided 5 or 6 game series respectively.

...and your points are "expert insights"?? BBD did well for us last season and the season before..when KG was out. Who do you want instead? Powe isn't coming back...I was VERY disappointed to lose him...but the fact is..he is not a Celtic anymore...I hope he does well in his career...who would you rather have instead of BBD?....and please stop blaming the game 7 loss on BBD...that argument is kinda garbage too.

are you serious?

This is a guy who gets the crowd FIRED up. (i have season tickets)

This is a guy who single handedly kept us in the Orlando series.

He plays really hard, has no fear on the court, whether it is getting an offensive board, or covering dwight howard.

He is devoloping a sweet mid range jumper as well. I watched him warm up several times, and he barely missed anything but net.

The ONLY thing this guy doesnt have going for him is length. He is a very productive 4 off the bench. Last year was a down for him due to his off the court mistakes, this year I really expect his bench to be one of the best.

Did I say I even wanted Powe back. I mentioned Powe helped build upon leads, that's it. I don't see him ever coming back. Was I ever a fan of Baby, yes,me & friends wondered why he was being benched for Powe. Last year,he got his minutes after Powe went down. Baby then led the unit, and suddenly games were harder, scores way to close, trading baskets. Baby don't get defensive rebounds/start fast breaks/alter shots/provide good spacing/or box his man. So,please stop with the he's developed his (half court)offense, that led the lead in shots blocked. Why do I want him hitting mid range jumpers,so Rondo can outrebound him so more? Am I an expert,no way,my degree is not in Playa Hating. I just wanna win big & easy, like where fatty's from,NO. Anyway, this is part of the segment when we read Baby Backer opinions.

    * He can create his own offense against starters and bench guys. Nope, rejected!
    * He can finish around the rim and has soft hands to handle passes in traffic. Manicured soft hands, yes but Rejected again! Pass the ball, you hog! Nope
    * He is shockingly quick footed and graceful for his size. No. Not enough on his defensive rotations or spacing for teammates. Can't even control his body sometimes except when Doing the Dougie of course!
    * He has good range for a big man. unnecessary at 300lbs
    * He doesn't shy away from a big shot when he's open.Agree
    * He consistently grabs boards on offense and defense. Avg 3.8 total this season, calm down
    * He effectively uses his strength defensively. sometimes
    * He's great at taking charges. What else he gonna do?
    * He uses his strength to wear guys down. You just made Dwight smile. Nope,at end of games, opponent wear him down.
    * He has a solid basketball IQ and knowledge of positioning. He might, but short comings don't help that
    * He hustles. Floor burns and warnings for first row attenders will be in order for diving or crashing. Agree
    * He gets his teammates excited. Got KG excited once, oops
    * He has personality. Immature - "While the camera is on Chucky Atkins, you can hear Glen Davis of the Boston Celtics telling a heckler to suck his d***. Dumbo was fined $25000 for the comment and all because the heckler called him “fat boy” and “chubs” If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen Davis..Toughen up you Big Baby."

When Glen Davis (formerly known as Big Baby) walked into the New Orleans Saints victory parade, there was an enormous ovation. Of course, Davis was a member of LSU’s basketball team back when he was in college, so the hometown fans gave him some love. Davis’ Head Coach, Doc Rivers, had some other thoughts about the ovation: (Quote Via Celtics Town)

“Yeah, well, they thought he was a float. Sorry, I couldn’t resist,” Doc Rivers joked.

you guys are forgetting that bbd has always been looking for the big payday which he is not going to get in boston.

this is the last year of his contract - they might as well trade him for a wing and see if they can bring sheed back and sign shaq for the minimum.

I like bbd's energy and rebounding but what good is rebounding if you are just going to try to put it back up and get blocked every single time.

So if we can do this - we have a line up of

Sheed, shaq

KG, JO

Pierce, Daniels

Ray, wing gotten in trade for bbd

Rondo, nate

Depending on what you get for BBD - that could be a nice bench
