CP3 waited too long: had he gone public last month, NYK-NJ-Dal had the cap room/assets to deal. The most realistic matches now: Hou or Bos.

Rondo + Sheed's waivable deal + '11 no. 1 + 3 mill for CP3 + Posey. RT @joshlacey33: Let's hear your idea of a paul to boston

Can't decide. CP's knee scares me but we lost Finals b/c Kobe played 8 ft off Rondo. RT @stevensonpj: Would you rather have Paul than Rondo?

Boston has the hammer offer if they want to make it: Rondo, Perkins, Sheed's ghost, No. 1 + 3m for CP3 + Okafor. NO has to say yes to that.

This is a great deal at face value for both sides....but Perkins' injury would have to sour the deal a bit for NO.

I think Okafor's long deal (4 yrs left) would make NO want to do this. Although Perk is injured, his contract is an expiring one.

They would swap Rondo for a player who doesn't want to play there, get cash, a 1st rdr, and cap flexibility. NO would probably have to pull the trigger on this.

Rondo+Perk+Sheed's deal for CP3 and Okafor is a great deal for Boston. Need to get CP3 to agree to extension before the deal goes through, like we did for KG.

Then sign McCants or T-Mac and either Barnes or Hayes for 2nd unit.

PG-CP3/Donkey
2G-Ray/McCants or T-Mac
SF-Pierce/Barnes or Hayes
PF-KG/Shrek
 C-Okafor/O'Neil

I don't see how this will happen. NO already has a PG to replace Paul if they trade him, they don't need another one. Look for Paul to be swapped for someone who plays a different position.

Given that Ray, KG and Nate's deals all expire in two years, just like Paul's, I'm not so sure an extension is an absolute necessity.

Rondo is better than Collison by leaps and bounds. The best move would be to trade Collison to a team with no PG and get back cheap young talent on the wing to NO.

I'd try for one if we're taking back Okafor's long deal.

This really might be one of the better offers out there for them.  Rondo is obviously the big piece here, but perhaps they'd rather have a player who is not a PG since they have Collison but I don't think Collison ever is as good as Rondo.

I would do it.  As much as I love Rondo, Paul is incredible.  He has all Rondo's strengths and doesn't cripple your O at times with his lack of shooting ability.

This would make sense.  Maybe Indiana for Rush and change, or Portland has Fernandez still hanging out there wanting a trade.

I could do that deal.  My only concern in a Rondo/Paul trade is that we'd give up so much this year that we'd miss out on a title this year and potentially have Paul walk in 2012.

With the Simmons trade, I think we'd be arguably a better team this year with Paul being better than Rondo and Emeka likely giving us more than Perk will.  And long term, we have a major star draw to try to entice players to Boston in 2012.

Let's also not forget that CP3 is more likely to attract a big time FA to sign in Boston than Rondo is. Rondo seems to have a quirky personality that is totally opposite from Paul. That could weigh in heavily in 2012.

This is a deal tough to swallow. FML, I was just starting to get on the Rondo Bandwagon. But this deal sounds better & better every passing second. It'll be an upgrade on two fronts the PG position, and Center position. I think its safe to say, Okafor is better than Perk (a little overpaid though).

Whatever happens don't trade Avery. Kid has a lot of Rondo's physical tools the tangible that Chris Paul doesn't have.

Despite Okafor's ugly deal, I'd do this one in a nanosecond.

And even if you were to argue that Perk is better than Okafor (certainly not a in a numbers way, but in a intangibles/team defense way) Okafor likely will be better than Perk next year.  And when we're this old as a team, that matters.
