We'll really find out how much climate matters to Barnes.  The top two warm weather contenders (Heat, Lakers) really need another wingman like they need a hole in the head.  Barnes would be lucky to get 15 minutes a game in LA, even less than that in Miami.  Meanwhile, he'd probably get 20 minutes in Chicago and more than that in Boston.  Since the money's fairly close for all 4, Barnes' love of the sun may be the deciding factor.

Mike

Whose going to take his minutes in LA?  I think he could be the first wing off the bench ahead of Walton and Sasha.

I think Dallas is a very real possibility too though.

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!!!!

Today is the big day!!!!

The day for the big decision!!!!

Matt Barnes announces where he's going to go play for under $2 million a year!!!!

I haven't been this excited since LeBron's  Decision on LeBronSPN last week.

{YAWN) Someone wake me up when it's all over.

get ready. ESPN is carrying "the decision but much much smaller and boring" for barnes from 2:23:15 PM to 2:23:20 PM.  ;D

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I hope they can get Jim Gray so he can ask such insightful questions as:
1) When did you make your decision?
2) Who knows about this?
3) Do you want to change your mind?

god, i really hope barnes picks the c's. he really is the typr of playerthe c's need of the bench. tough, gritty defense and can knock down the 3 at a pretty good clip.

also, the miami heat are already unlikeable. adding barned to that list makes them even more in my eyes. barnes is that type of player that you hate to play against but wish you had on your team. kind like varejao imo.

With Blake, Fisher and it looks like Brown coming back, Barnes won't be getting any time at the 2.  And as you point out, the Lakers have already got a couple of backups to Artest already.  Barnes might be able to beat them out, but he'd have no competiton for minutes at all in Boston.

Blake and Fisher play more of the one than any other position. Brown is a combo guard.

If we can get Barnes that would be huge.  He is definitely better than Quis, and can stretch the floor better than Tony.

Then when healthy our second unit would be something like

Nate
Bradley
Barnes
Baby
JO

Thats pretty nasty, you are talking about a bench that has 4 guys that could be legit starters in the league.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Right now he wouldn't.  But I highly doubt Danny would be done dealing.  There is a very good chance Barnes would be the 4th wing in Boston, with Danny still using Sheed's contract to get a legit 6th man.  That would greatly cut into Barnes' minutes here...and even moreso if Bradley is the real deal.

I just don't think he is guaranteed minutes on any of these teams.  He is more than likely going to have a lot of competition, and is going to need to fight for his minutes.

That's what I mean.  With Blake and Fisher at the 1, Brown will suck up all the non-Kobe minutes at the 2.  That leaves Barnes battling for the 3 spot with Walton and Sasha (if Sasha gets out of Phil's doghouse).  Right now, Boston has no one backing up either Pierce or Ray.  Even if Ainge swings a deal for Howard or someone else, there will still be more available minutes with the Celtics than LA.

I'm not counting on him coming here, but I'd be happy if he did.  Matt Barnes for the vet min would be a steal.
