Barnes wants to get paid.  If he is forced to sign for the vet min, I see him preferring to go to a team where he thinks he has a chance to win a starting job.

hmm that doesn't seem logical.  Let's say he does sign for vet min wouldn't he pick a team that has a chance of contending?  Starting job will probably come with more money in fact.

He appears to be the perfect fit for Miami.

I don't think he'll get playing time in Miami.  He'll be behind Lebron and Mike Miller.

This would be huge. We'd also have the craziest bench in the league between Nate, Baby and Barnes.

With Davis able to play some at center, I'm less concerned with finding another big.  Another one is definitely needed, but getting a guy to be productive at the wing is more important than getting a big body who just won't suck.

Really, this isn't as bad as it sounds.  We will get to see Baby get a ton of minutes and he is pretty fun to watch, so it will make it interesting for the first half of the season.  Then, Perk will come back and play himself back into shape for the playoffs.  We only need to make the playoffs, what seed we get isn't horribly important as last year and the Spurs have illustrated.  My main concern is keeping Ray and KG's minutes down.

Barnes can play some PF like Posey did.

Celtics 2 year plan I think will not align with Matt Barnes' priorities.  The Heat will offer him years.

Year don't matter when you are talking about the minimum.

I think Barnes likes the defensive toughness and team ball style of the Celtics.

Playing alongside a creator like Rondo and weapons at every position has to be very appealing. He could easily find himself playing 20-24 minutes at the 3/4 poistions.

2maro is the day. I will let my fans know where I'm going to sign. Its gonna SURPRISE you!!!! Keep it locked..

I think it's going to be the Celtics or the Heat, but I think it'll be the Heat.

Even if they play Wade at PG, with Miller already in Miami that means Barnes would be signing there for little money and little playing time.  My guess would be either Chicago, LA or Boston.

Mike

I'm not liking "The Decision"-esque twitter post, but I'll be happy to have him in Boston.

No thanks.

We saw what he does as a SF defender.  Pierce had his best series of the playoffs.

You keep ragging on Barnes.  If not him, who?

Mike

He was injured against the Cs.  Ever tried to play basketball with a back injury?  It throws your whole game off.

It would be like judging Pierce's entire season based on how he played the two weeks after getting his knee drained.

I think he's gonna go to the Lakers.

Any reason other than pessimism?  Very little playing time there but, what do I know.  He probably sees the cake walk the Lakers have to finals.

maybe so, but now Jermaine Oneal and Matt Barnes were injured against the celtics now that we are looking at them as celtics players. Were Shaq, Rashard Lewis, Jamison, Mo Williams, etc. all injured too? Give the celtics some credit for making players look bad.

NBA doesn't work that way really, except in extreme circumstances.  Jermaine O'Neal and Perk hate each other on the floor over the last few years and guess who will be playing each in practice soon.  Kobe Bryant just got a helicopter and went all out to try to get Raja Bell, who clotheslined his ass blatantly in the playoffs, to play for the Lakers.
