Just got off w 2 diff sources who each said the #Celtics unlikely to get Matt Barnes. Dallas, LAL and ... u got it, Miami, the favs now.

Wow.... starting to feel like by the time Riley's done, this Miami team will have the best bench in the league.

Don't know about the bench, but he doesn't have a starting center yet.

So far the paint / rim protectors are Bosh, Ilguaskas and Haslem. So far I don't think they can beat Boston or Orlando in the playoffs.

Agreed. If they draw Orlando within the first two rounds it may not even be a long series.

barnes would be stupid to go to the heat wear he will barely get any playing time behind lebron wade and miller.  You got to assume one of wade and lebron will always be on the court and miller will be subbing in for the one resting..so i dont see barnes going there...also the lakers are resigning shannon brown so i dont see barnes going there either...

however i am worried about the mavericks who have the full MLE still and could pay barnes the most.

barnes would get the most playing time in boston being essentially a sixth man giving both ray and paul a lot of rest...hopefully barnes comes to boston because i dont wont the adam morrison era to begin.

Vince Carter cannot keep up with D-Wade, but will do his own part in offense. Lebron will own the 3 spot...Bosh will have a hard time vs Lewis...

Sounds like Boston, Dallas and Cleveland would all be good places for Barnes, and we can't offer the MLE so I don't see Ainge outbidding any of them. 

It will have to be a trade.  Is it still possible that TA's deal will be a S&T?  If so we could get some talent back from Memphis for our bench.

if boston can fill out the bench and get perk back for the playoffs...they match up well with orlando and miami...i would like to see barnes or brewer as a back up wing...some sort of big off the bench and nate resigned. a bench of:

Well the good news is that going to the Heat wouldn't exactly "surprise" anyone as he says.   

Maybe he's going to Sacramento.

- Blake cost about $4 million.
- Brown is a bird rights player so his money doesn't come out of  the MLE
- Barnes would get the remainder of the MLE at $1.8 million. Or perhaps the LLE, I don't think LA spent that last season.

Their ownership sure doesn't seem to mind this high payroll.

Haha nice way to put it.  You might like him on the Celts.  The thing I like about him is that he is an actual tough guy like James Posey.  There are a lot of fake tough guys with big mouths.  At least Barnes puts his neck out there.

On another note, I havn't been thrilled with the jerk level of our last two significant big men signings, either.

We'll really find out how much climate matters to Barnes.  The top two warm weather contenders (Heat, Lakers) really need another wingman like they need a hole in the head.  Barnes would be lucky to get 15 minutes a game in LA, even less than that in Miami.  Meanwhile, he'd probably get 20 minutes in Chicago and more than that in Boston.  Since the money's fairly close for all 4, Barnes' love of the sun may be the deciding factor.
