Matt Barnes gone to Heat or Celtics?

Unfortunately, Celts just do not have the resources to get most of these guys. In the end, Danny is going to have to be able to pull a rabbit out of his hat to get a quality backup wing or two.

Barnes wants to get paid.  If he is forced to sign for the vet min, I see him preferring to go to a team where he thinks he has a chance to win a starting job.

hmm that doesn't seem logical.  Let's say he does sign for vet min wouldn't he pick a team that has a chance of contending?  Starting job will probably come with more money in fact.

He appears to be the perfect fit for Miami.

I think he picks the place where he has the best chance of earning a future big contract, which generally means where he gets the most playing time.  I don't see him coming to Boston unless Ainge promises to give Barnes the biggest possible contract next season, and the impending lockout makes that promise difficult.

I think Barnes should go to Cleveland.

Any reason other than pessimism?  Very little playing time there but, what do I know.  He probably sees the cake walk the Lakers have to finals. 

It was a total guess, although now with that Blakely post, it looks like an educated one.  I just know the guy is from California, the Lakers just missed out on using their $1.8 mil on Raja Bell, and Barnes said that we'd be "surprised" by who he picked.  Since reports were Miami and Boston, I figured it had to be another team.

IMO he wouldn't be forced to take the vet min from a weaker team.  So to me it would seem if he was taking the vet min he would go to a contender.  And like everyone already decided Cleveland was a 1 man team and now that 1 man is gone so they are talentless.

Honestly a lot of things that have happened in the off season were pretty senseless, so I wouldn't be too surprised if he ended up going there.

I think the only way we can get backups for Ray/Pierce is through sign and trade...since most fa's are looking for contracts that are willing to pay them good money.

he could play defense, not as well but he could fit right into our system

offensively he can shoot the 3, grab rebounds and spread the floor well with us in my opinion

Don't know about the bench, but he doesn't have a starting center yet.

So far the paint / rim protectors are Bosh, Ilguaskas and Haslem. So far I don't think they can beat Boston or Orlando in the playoffs.
