I really hope he can play some 2. If he can't play with Rondo this becomes a bad pick in my mind.

I want him at the 2 also.

He's Doc's small ball wet dream, LOL. If he comes back Doc's bench lineup will be

Nate
Bradley
Pierce
Davis
Harangody

 ;D

I take it you still want Ray to start? If not who do you have at the 2?

Bradley's the 2 in this scenario.

-------------------

According to the front page the Celtics are gonna try and mold him into a point guard.  :-\ That sounds retarded to me. I guess they're not gonna bring Nate back. I'd rather have Nate than Tony, honestly. Nate turned into a pesky defender who wasn't half bad distributing the ball. He also could create his own shot -- something this team desperately needs. Our offense SUCKS.

I meant as a starter lol

With Avery Bradley here I think TA is more important than Nate.

But Bradley basically brings everything TA brings, plus a jumper that I don't count in the box score as a TO.

TA is 1/4 of an inch taller. Same wingspan. Both are lockdown defenders. Both turn the ball over a lot. Bradley should be replacing TA and Nate should stay on as the PG. No converting Bradley into a true point. That's retarded.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

meh, delonte turned out to be a serviceable point guard. i don't really mind if they try to make him into a point guard. rondo can teach anyone to pass... and ray will help with his shooting.

Become Legendary.

Why do people want to turn this kid into a point guard? We don't need one of those! We have an amazing starter in Rondo and a good backup in Nate.

I think DA took the BPA. There was talk of the Pacers taking him at 10, but their need was more for a 1 than a 2. Also, nbadraftnet.com rates him very highly. http://www.nbadraft.net/players/avery-bradley

TA molded himself into the most reliable bench player on the team... were you watching him? Tony has realized that his game is cutting hard, and aggressively attacking the basket when he has an opportunity.

I’m not letting TA go...

And as far as assets go Nate is the bigger name to use in a S&T.

Yes, Tony finally found a niche this year. That made him useful. But despite his emergence as a a player of use he still has the same old flaws he's had all along. If we're looking at letting one member of the Bradley Tony Nate trio go, I would prefer to see TA go. That's just my opinion.

I agree, Tony wont be appreciated until he's gone then all the haters will be on here talking about how they miss what he brought. Theres not much players in the league I can name that play better scrappier in your face D than him. He knows his role ( he was in front of the media in tears after the finals loss) TA bleeds green.

Soooo Avery Bradley. More athletic Monta Ellis with a little less finishing ability?

My attempt to make me feel better over this pick.

Monta doesn't play defense.  I think it'd be pretty amazing if Bradley turned out to be a 20+ ppg scorer.

I think shorter-TA-with-a-jumpshot might be the best we can hope for from Bradley.  Still, that description doesn't sound half bad, though it certainly isn't a big need for the C's by any means.

Well, we never really did get to see what Tony could of turned out to be with all of his injuries. It could turn out good, especially with a handle and jumpshot. Obviously two major things holding TA back.

My biggest concern with that comparison is the bulk Bradley lacks. He looks extremely small and frail and only manged the bench press twice at the combine.

What makes Tony such a good defender is his good mix of finesse and physicality on the defensive end. He isn't the biggest dude ever, but he can really move his feet while bodying guys up. I'm not sure Bradley can play that sort of D in the NBA.

I just did a little digging and research to find Avery's high school stats. During his senior year he shot 83-109 from the FT line. Something close to 76 percent. Far, far better than his percentage in the NCAA, where he actually shot less FT's than he did in HS (he shot 66 FT's at Texas, a really low number)

I'm liking the pick a little better now.

Nice research. Yeah I think Bradley has a legitimate mid-range game and will be ok from the line. FWIW, he made 12 of his last 15 FTs at Texas as well. For some reason he was all messed up for a bit but I wouldn't panic if everyone agrees the kid has an alright shot.

Check out some of the bits here:
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Avery-Bradley-5285/

According to multiple source in there, he actually does the bulk of his scoring via a sweet midrange jumper.
