Chris Paul may be available or he may not be available, but supposedly if you land Paul, you would jump to the front of the line in landing Lebron.  Nets have apparently offered #3 and any players on their roster (excluding Brook Lopez).  The Grizzlies offered OJ Mayo (as the centerpiece) of a trade.

that would be a very dumb move from the Hornets and I have been suspecting it since I saw Collison getting his rhythm and putting up huge numbers...

And he did finish...

They should trade Collison then, giving up CP3 is just crazy.

He'll only be 25 coming into this year and just entering his prime.

They (Hornets) have been blessed with exceptional PGs (Davis, Paul). Maybe they see Collison in that manner also.

I would trade Rondo for Chris Paul RIGHT NOW!!! Is it just me or would we have won game 7 if we had a point guard with a jumper???
I have 17 reasons why my team is better than yours...

why?  Hornets weren't very good last year and really don't have much chance of being very good moving forward without making some changes.

PG's are historically a very overrated position when leading to championships, especially small ones like Paul.

I could certainly see the Hornets trying to move Collison to get a big man, maybe Collison and West for Bosh (for example), but I'm not sure they can swing something like that.

Even if he is on the trading block, I'm keeping Rondo over CP3 as much as I love his game. Rondo is developing and will have a decent jump shot or even good jump shot very soon. He's shown us that this year.

I'd even up that offer.

Rondo, Wallace, a first and Big Baby.

Or Rondo, Wallace, a first and absorb a bad contract contract from New Orleans. Posey?

New Orleans would have to spin Collison for some other asset afterwards.

I worry about his injury history but if you were to do a complete Control+Alt+Delete with this team, then Rondo for Chris Paul makes sense if you can land Bosh or Amare Stoudemire.

I would like to see a Ray Allen and Garnett for Al Jefferson and Ryan Gomes swap in that case.

Chris Paul III, Paul Pierce, Tony Allen, Al Jefferson, and Chris Bosh (Amare Stoudemire) becomes your starting line-up for 2010-2011. We will need to retool our bench. Perhaps we re-sign Nate Robinson, Bring on Gomes, We have Glen Davis, We wait on Perkins to recover, Bring back Leon Powe (should never have left in the 1st place and would have been a difference maker against the Lakers).

That is not a bad reload at all.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Minnesota would hang up before we finished our pitch.

CP3 makes sense even if you make no other big moves. Anytime you can get a top-5 guy in the league, you do it.

Boston gets:  Chris Paul
Boston trades:  Rondo, BBD, #19 pick

New Orleans gets:  #2 pick, BBD, Kapono
New Orleans trades:  Chris Paul

Philadelphia gets:  Rondo, #19 pick
Philadelphia trades:  #2 pick, Kapono

???  The only reason Kapono is in there is because Philly needs to send out and NO needs to take back some salary in this deal and the only + for Kapono is that his contract is only 1 more year.  I can't figure out how else to make it work and I think even more salary needs to be included.  Jason Smith maybe?

For the celts, we resign Ray, TA, and Nate and bring in a backup big with the MLE.  Backup 3 becomes a problem, but i guess that's our weakness we need to deal with.  Maybe an NBA-ready 2nd rounder can help us there or we can buy Miami's pick.  I say we are still in contention.
