Because of BYC rules, it's going to be tough to include Rondo in a sign-and-trade, especially one that doesn't include Ray.

Ray + Rondo + #19 is probably something Boston would have to do, and which Cleveland would be forced to consider.  Ultimately, though, I can't see Lebron agreeing to come here, and I'm not sure that adding him would immediately make us better.

I don't think the messiah would make us better at all...Long or short term.  Certainly wouldn't make us more watchable.

The messiah may have Jordan talent but he'll never be Jordan...Even though he gets more bogus calls in a season than Jordan got his whole career.  And Jordan got many.

You're absolutely right.

The messiah has accumulated sooooo many championships.  All-the-while as the most coddled, protected, and obscenely overtly Donaghy-caliber officiated commodity in sport's history.  All-the-while having how many roster overhauls to get him to the promised land?

I stand by what I said.  I wouldn't trade Rondo for the messiah straight up.  Rondo knows what it takes to win a championship.  The messiah may never know.

Rondo is better than Deng, but Lebron would probably want to sign in Chicago more.

Lebron + Rose + Noah + max free agent is a truly scary proposition

There is no way I would trade Rajon Rondo for Lebron James.

Yup. We might as well rebuild if that max free agent is named Bosh or Wade. Because that team's winning the title.

There is no way I trade Rondo for Lebron.  All the fuss around PG's has been Deron Williams and CP3.  Well I take Rondo over both of them, I have stated that from the time he was drafted.  The C's need to make the big push now and ride the big three out.  Set themselves up for a turnover of talent in '12 and make the play for Durant.  Rondo/Durant are stuff that dreams are made of.

No need for a trade....sign him

Here's how it works....Lebron, wanting desperately to win, sees a window with the current C's and signs for the MLE for one or two years.....heck what difference does a net worth of 470M vs 500M make....monies become available in upcoming years with expiring contracts to re-sign him

I really don't want to trade Rondo. For anyone. I think When you get as good as a PG as rondo is it really is hard to stumble on that. If LeBron wants to come here he can take the MLE.  :P and then in 2 or three years re-sign with a max contract and bird rights after winning two rings lol

...  when your stated goal is to become a billionaire....

I really don't see LeBron going anywhere where he would have to share the glory.  That ain't him.  In that regard, he's like Kobe.  He needs to find his Gasol, another legitimate All-NBA type player (at least second- or third-team) whose personality doesn't require that they get all that much attention.

don't talk about trading rondo - when he gets his shot down - he will be that once in 20 year player your were talking about.

Now if James were to come here in free agency, it would be to play with Rondo.  Rondo would make James better than he already is.   I don't know how that would work or if James would rather have  the ring than the money - but there might be a way to get that done.

James probably makes more money with endorsements than basketball anyways.

Nooooo.  LeBron is amazing but I never want him to be on my team.  I would feel sick rooting for the guy.

Nah, you would love him after his first 40 point game in green, and so would I.  :P
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I don't think taking back Deng is a good idea for the Cavs.

Unless they plan on using Deng to shed other contracts he doesn't help them enough....

If Paul Pierce restructures his contract for next season 21 mill it's possible to get 1 of the big free agents this offseason. Or atleast thats what Avery Johnson was saying on Mike & Mike this morning. Now if this is true, I know 21 mill for one season is alot of money to walk away from if your Paul or any player for that matter. But two things come to mind when thinking about why Paul could or would do this. He might think he kinda owes it to the C's brass for sticking with him and doing everything they could to make him happy and a champion. Second is that all the big three especially Paul know to be known as a true Celtics legend you need multiple titles and if they win it all this year he will have 2 rings and that enough to do it but like all players who have 1 ring or 2 they are still hungry for more and that will be harder to do without adding a young big time playa this offseason when so many teams are in the hunt to land one or two

I truely think he would do this if it's possible to do like I heard it was.
