So let me start off by saying I can't stand Lebron and his arrogance, but I also realize he is a once in 20 year talent athletically and has ton of potential to improve as a player.

Ok so say the C's boot the Cavs . Lebron is gone for sure IMO because that team is old at the big positions and has a very mediocre backcourt with Williams and Parker. They also don't have much of a chance of improving with only the MLE and late 1st round draft picks.

If Lebron does decide to leave, wouldnt it benefit both Lebron and the cavs to do a sign and trade? Lebron would make more money by resigning with cavs because of bird rights and the Cavs  would at least get something for him.

Rondo and #19  would be a very good offer for the Cavs

The knicks don't have anyone near Rondo's talent level to offer up in a trade for Lebron. Of course this would all depend on talking Lebron into joining the C's.

With the way Rondo has played this postseason and the reasonable contract he just signed for the next 5 years he may be able to land us a  big fish.

PG: Lebron
SG: Ray
SF: PP
PF: KG
 C: Perk

Because of BYC rules, it's going to be tough to include Rondo in a sign-and-trade, especially one that doesn't include Ray.

Ray + Rondo + #19 is probably something Boston would have to do, and which Cleveland would be forced to consider.  Ultimately, though, I can't see Lebron agreeing to come here, and I'm not sure that adding him would immediately make us better.

Yea I would have to do that trade Ray, Rondo and 19 for Lebron. Then you sign Mike Miller for the MLE. That team would be huge in the back court with Lebron and Miller both 6'8

I don't know I think playing for the franchise with the most titles and history would stroke his ego. QThe roster would also still be better than the current cavs roster so he would be comepting for a title no doubt.

He is a free agent he can go anywhere. Why agree to come here if we just bounced him from the postseason? This premise seems silly.

Probably true, but at least Rondo has that much value now. We can be in on any talks if a top 5 player becomes available because we have a young stud pg. The only players I would trade rondo for straight up would be Durant, Lebron, Dwight Howard , Wade and MAYBE D Williams.

Nah Rondo has Dirk's value. When Dirks contract gets done this summer it will be the around the same annual value as Rondos.

Maybe same salary wise but at this point Rondo has much more trade value because he is 10 years younger....

What a horrible choice to have to make. Rondo, who will all love or Lebron, who most of us dislike (or hate).

You have to make that deal. But it would suck.

Nope. Rondo doesnt have as much trade value as you think. What do you think we could get for just Rondo?

If he finishes the playoffs as strong as he has started them he will have a ton of trade value. Of course those teams wouldn't trade Durant,Lebron,Wade or Howard under normal circumstances, but if they knew they were going to leave via free agency Rondo would definitely be one of the top offers they could get.

Look at the big players that have switched teams over the last 5-10 years. How many teams that traded those players away got players better than Rondo in return? Offhand, I'd guess none.
