Is this Sheed's fault? Isn't Doc the one who continually throws him out there? I don't understand what else Sheed has to do to get kicked out of the rotation. Marquis, before he hurt his thumb, was a valuable part of the rotation. He showed he can contribute. Once he wasn't playing well, he was removed in favor of Tony. Rasheed hasn't played well ALL season, save for one or two sporadic games here and there. For the most part, Shelden has shown an ability to be a positive contribution out there. Why can't Doc see the light and make the switch?

At the very least, just have Baby take all of Rasheed's minutes. At the end of the third quarter yesterday, for whatever odd reason, Baby came in to pull KG and NOT Rasheed.

This brings me back to the part where we talked last year about whether a woman could play in the nba.

After looking at Sheed I'd have to say heck yes. I'd also consider a blind guy and a guy from the wheelchair league. I'm pretty sure they'd at least try harder.

I'm not going to say he's the reason we lost, but when you look at the stats he played the worst of all the players yet again. That makes him the single biggest reason we lost, right?

And all this garbage about reactionary threads concerning the Pauls and Rays of the world, we can all agree that last night wasn't a normal game for Pierce and Allen. They have, overall, been very good players for the Celtics who have played up to their ability and always with effort.

The fact is: Most of us expect Rasheed to not play well at this point to the detriment of the team and at the same time, not show the required energy to make up for that. You can't say the same for Paul, Ray and BBD.

All this for a guy who played only 13 minutes, and didn't do much to hurt the team (or help the team)

Where is the thread about Pierce's 4 turnovers, 5-17 shooting, and allowing Lebron to gain confidence in this shoulder?

Did Pierce ever give Lebron a hard foul?  (I know Wallace did)

If Pierce played better, the Celtics win.

If Wallace played better, the Celtics probably still lose.

Paul Pierce played hard, Wallace didn't. You don't need a bigger explanation than that.

The fact he still has people defending him is ridiculous to me. What else does he have to do to shows these people he is/was a bust & total waste if space? The rationale of "at least he didn't make any mistakes". Or he only had a few mins of time on the floor, makes my blood boil even more.

First off he did make mistakes. Namely not scoring or playing any defense. He was outrebounded and outhustled AGAIN!! What else do you guys need to see from this guy to make you understand he's garbage. As for the mins issue, your right he hasn't gotten many mins to show anything. And that's the problem. He was brought in here to fill those backup big mins and he's consistently shown & proven that, that is beyond him. Unreal. The excuses from the rasheed optimists are getting old at this point.

like i said...just a little scoring out of sheed would be nice. 5-10 points would be a huge lift. but we can't even get that anymore

Sheed is absolutely abominable. From CelticsHub:

"Sheed declared before the post-season that he’d play better now that the games matter. After six games, his PER is 4.8, he has zero offensive rebounds, he has hit just 7 of 20 shots and is 0-of-3 from three-point range."

A PER of 4.8 - that's almost unthinkably bad.

sad thing is he does even look to score from three anymore...i mean he doesn't even try to play offense. they play where varajo just took the ball from him was pathetic

In Blount's years with the Celts his numbers were far better and his effort was better too.

Kandi had better fg% and better blocks per minute

I consider Sheed the worst Celtic ever.

Every time I look at him my stomach has a negeative reaction.

Rasheed's lack of effort and production is inexcusable and unforgivable.  I think we can all agree on that.

You must be too young to remember Sidney Wickes and Curtis Rowe, maybe the two biggest dogs to ever wear the Celtics green. To be honest, Vin Baker played harder than Sheed does and who knows how many times he was playing with a hangover.

  • You say when......
BBD and Sheldon should get Sheeds (AKA The Ghost) minutes, let them prove who wants it more...besides BBD was in foul trouble early last game......well, everyone was..but still....i say put sheldon in, he has shown great enthusiasm, rebounding...( Really), ability to score, a 10 foot shot...and more....he is always underneath on both ends when the shot is up..remember that stuff....sounds like something you'd expect to just.....happen..!  That is my piece.......

No - I'd say that Pierces' 5-17 night didn't help.

Pierce won't shoot that bad on Tomorrow night, I know this much.

Sure - Sheed didn't help much last night. Hasn't helped much this post-season. It is certainly getting to crunch time for him. He was made out to be our Primary Man off the bench, our 6th man of the Year.

Well, I'm not blind to the fact that this isn't happening. It could happen tomorrow night?

Then you will see several threads on here about how great it was to sign Sheed.

But anyway..once this season is over, whether in June or next week, we will sooner or later find out what is going on with Sheed.

I know that there is something else going on behind the scenes with Rasheed, and we won't know what is going on until after this is all over. The Celtics Organization is pretty good at keeping bad stuff out of the media. We won't know the gory details (if there are any) until this is over.

Until then - I am withholding my judgement on Sheed. The blessing here is that with KG starting to play at 2008-ish levels I absolutely Love Our Opportunity - even after last night.

Worst case scenario is Glen and Shelden absorb Sheed's minutes. But KG gives me hope, regardless of what is going on with Sheed.

CH - I am a Sheed Optimist, just like I am a Shelden, Scal, TA, etc Optimist.

I have pulled for each and every Player on this Team.

Just like I did (and still do) when I play pick-up games or when I played for my Commands.

There is nothing wrong with Hope. I won't be persuaded by anyone on CelticsBlog as to why I think like I do.
