you know...if we could get just 5-7 points out of sheed...it would be a huge lift...we cant even get that right now.

You have absolutely no clue. Blaming Sheed for Boston's inability to stop Mo Williams or Lebron is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

My friend, please point me to the spot in my post where I said Rasheed was responsible for those things.  Do it.  PLEASE.  Show me where I said that.  If you can't, please stop putting words in my mouth.

Thanks.

After every loss the first thing you do is come out and "yet again" light Rasheed up. It doesn't matter if the guy played 2 minutes, shot the ball one time, whatever. There was absolutely no need to start yet another I hate Rasheed thread after that game. He had nothing to do with that loss really. Why don't you create a thread at how poorly Glen Davis played. How poorly we defended Lebron. No. You just rip a guy that had a better +/- than every started but Rondo and barely at that. The blame is obvious and it's getting old.

Fail.  You didn't point out any part of my post where I said Rasheed was responsible for the loss or the way LeBron and Mo Williams played.

On top of that, you accuse me of repeatedly coming out after "every loss" to rag on Rasheed.  There's really no basis for that whatsoever.  I've criticized Rasheed at times, but I'm far from his most vocal critic.  As far as I can remember, this is my first post specifically singling out Sheed for his lackluster performance.

Once again, I'd thank you not to put words in my mouth.

Well, Sheed didn't help, but he didn't hurt us.

Look..I love Paul Pierce, but how did he come out blazing in the first quarter, but did little afterwards? Was it the fouls? Could he have adjusted his game?

Wooo!  Another fantastic performance from Rasheed Wallace!

Now, I want to preface this by saying that I'm not hating on the Celtics on the whole.  The performance they gave us tonight was no less than what we could have realistically expected, all things considered.  A couple guys really stepped up, in fact.  For a lot of the game things were going really well.  But through it all, through good times and bad, there was one player who consistently drew my ire.  Maybe it's overdramatic to say so, but tonight was the last straw for me.  Rasheed Wallace is on my black list.

Seriously, this guy is now officially my least favorite player in the NBA.  I'm sorry if that's ridiculously hyperbolic, but I decided that after watching him do nothing but hurt the Celtics in yet another important game.  This guy is a disgusting disgrace.  I don't agree that he's "infected" the team or any such nonsense, but he really has been close to useless for this team, and more often that not I feel like his impact on the game has been a net negative for our team when it matters.

Bleh.  If I never see Rasheed in a Celtics uniform again it'll be too soon.

Agree (TP). I know there are many here, (people who I respect a great deal), who think Rasheed is unfairly scrutinized and blamed for things, but he's just a non-factor on the floor, and we don't need a four-player game ... especially not in the playoffs. I have been watching closely for some time now to see all the good stuff that others see, to give him, (and them), the benefit of the doubt ... but folks, it's just NOT happening. His defense is non-existent at best, and the best part of his game, (in the post), is his very last option. He is not the reason we lost this game, but he is taking up space on the floor that could be given to someone who is hungry to win, and someone who truly cares about this team.

Well said. He's not the sole reason we lost. That would be a ridiculous claim. But when he's out there we really are playing 4 on 5. He adds NOTHING. He only takes away with his poor help D and his uselessness on the offensive end. Having Rasheed on the floor is an instant negative. Sheldon, or Scalabrine should take his minutes, but i know it won't happen unfortunately.

I would say that Sheed is one of the top 10 foul line-to-foul line players in the NBA --  ;D

Honestly, the whole team came out blazing in the first and then fizzled out.  Is it age?  I don't know.  Certainly I can't think of a better explanation for why KG was having an awesome game and then really fell off towards the end of the game.

As for how Sheed played, as usual it has less to do with what he did do (although the useless fouls, the missed shots and the poor defense didn't help) but more what he didn't do.  He contributed practically nothing offensively (again), he was consistently beaten on the defensive end (again), and he was very weak on the boards (again).

There are bigs in this league who get away with being slow, and soft, and terrible on the boards.  But those bigs usually shoot really well from outside (e.g. Matt Bonner).  In other words, they're role players.  At the moment, Rasheed isn't even a role player - unless committing dumb fouls is a legitimate role.

Sheed needs to be able, to at least, hit some layups or open shots from the low block.

Right?

Yes, in order to be a role player you need to be able to do basic things like that.

I can't believe we're now hoping that our MLE signing from last summer can actually function as a role player.

HOW BAD CAN SHELDEN WILLIAMS REALLY BE?  Gah.

I was never enamored with this signing... I said last summer we should expect him to rack up T's and jack up 3's. I really, really wanted to be wrong.

Looks like I wasn't.

He's become a malcontent, nothing really seems to motivate him (in the correct way) anymore. I was on a thin line with him all season, but the game where he got a T, then Doc pulled him and Sheed started yelling at him, I was done completely. I don't always agree with Doc but in that situation, you need to be more professional.

I can't really see many teams willing to take him in a trade, but I hope we shop him. And if we have to, buy him out and save a little luxury tax. The sheer fact that he has TWO YEARS left after this season makes me nauseous.

Just amazing. We sent like five guys to recruit him last summer.

And he hasn't had more than two or three passable games all year.

Pathetic.

As I've said before, this guy needs to be bought out and sent on his way.

I loved the signing last summer; but he's clearly incapable or unwilling to play the game at a level this team has to have to compete in the playoffs.

Cut him a check and move on.
Absolutely agree, the Celtics cannot afford to bring him back next season.

Bringing in a new first big man off the bench should be their first priority.
I would only agree with giving away money (that still kills the cap) if it is because his attitude hurts the team.

I will say this, I think Doc has to consider running Sheldon and Baby versus the Varejo Hickson combo.

Well, he plays well against Toronto... And only Toronto.

Hmmm... maybe we should trade him to Toronto?
