I won't spoil it for you. Click the link to find out how many more years he wants to play, and for a contending team.

That sounds rather reasonable.  He's only gonna be 32 come the start of the 2010-11 season.

Now whether or not a team is willing to take him on for that long or for what amount of money is a whole different question although I'm sure a team or two will be willing to take a flyer on him for reasonable money.

Well, Jermaine has more left in the tank than Rasheed, and we just handed him three years, right?

O'Neal is quite a bit better than he just showed against the Celts.  I agree that it would be foolish for any team to give J.O. a 4 year deal, but he's still only 31, and was fairly productive this year.

It's not the years on him, it's the mileage. He looked old in this last series, no?

A two-year deal I could see. But a team willing to give him guaranteed money for 3 or 4 years will be lucky to get anything close to their money's worth, I think.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
If he was making <3.5 million per season and filled a theo ratliff-esque role, that would work for me at 3 years.

That's not going to happen though. I hope he has fun on the "contending" clippers at 6 million a clip.

My interpretation of that:

"Cleveland, if you want a cheaper, younger alternative to Shaq and Big Z next year and Lebron resigns there, call me. And LA, if you need a rather cheap backup center, I'm your man."

Bingo.  He's looking to fill the Kurt Thomas role for someone.

It was almost sad to watch him play in this last series, though.  He used to be quite a player.  He looked rather washed up.  I don't think he was a good fit w/Wade, though.

After his recent performances, he should pay to them to let him play.

LOL who does he think he is? That's what former superstars say at the end of their career.

True, although I think J.O. is quite a bit better than he just showed.  I mean, he's not a 20/10 player any more, but he's also not 4/6, either.  For the season, he averaged 14/7 in 28 minutes per game.

Plus how many NBA teams are desperate for size every year?

Exactly.  And he thinks he was a superstar, but he was just a good player.  Funny how he makes it sound like he wants to sacrifice for a team big 3 style, but he doesn't have anything to sacrifice.  He was supposed to be in a playoff battle against the C's and he barely showed up.  PJ Brown in his last year was a better player than JO was this year- there was no slacking or choking in PJ.  And JO is a wimp.  I don't think he's going to be very helpful to anyone.

Depends on the money.  In a league with a lack of quality big men, he'd be a fairly good backup at cheap money.

However, I wouldn't give him more than 2-3 million a year if he wants 4 years.
