How can you say hamburger? Think, people!  If you like them rare, they are always too well done.  If you like them well done they are always too rare.  They fall apart on the grill and soak the bun into a soggy mess or sit soaking in their own grease in a skillet.  You can never be sure of the quality or flavor of the beef.  If you buy a lb. of hamburg, and you go to the fridge to make a burger it always seems to be gone!  Either it is in a meatloaf, has been added to chili, or is in some meatballs.  If it is frozen, it is useless for a couple hours, and then after it thaws it is not as good as fresh.  Now the hot dog, on the other hand, is precooked and always ready to be heated up.  It is in the perfect serving size.  It can go from the freezer to the grill, or microwave (have you ever had a microwaved hamburger?  Nasty!)  Hot dogs are neat to eat...they don't break apart and get grease all over your shirt.  Nothing, and I mean nothing, goes as well with baked beans as the humble hot dog.  Even a cheap hot dog tastes good with mustard, onions and relish on it.  And the clean up is much easier.  No greasy hands. Much easier to clean up the pots and pans. Hot dog wins....hands down!  The only people who could possibly vote for the hamburger obviously do not have to do the cooking and cleaning.  Stop thinking about yourself.  Think of your significant other and how to save her a little work.    As long as you are going to kill yourself by adding all that cholesterol to your diet, you might do it the easy way...with a hot dog!

Now that I have thought it over, HAVE YOUR HAMBURGER!  DO YOUR OWN COOKING.  AND DON'T FORGET TO CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!!!!!

Brunettes > Blondes > Redheads

and...

I love hot dogs but...

The Southern Smokehouse Burger at Chili's is the most delicious thing ever... especially if you substitute the BBQ sauce with Jalapeno-ranch dressing. Everybody should eat this burger at least once. And... if they've never seen or been to a Chili's. The Cheesecake Factory has a Smokehouse BBQ burger that is very similar and possibly better because it offers a BBQ ranch sauce... kind of the best of both worlds.

My argument at least had some substance!  And at the very least it was louder than yours!!!  Any form of "just because" is not an argument.  I want reasons!

(Changing to a purr)...Edgar if you go to the trouble of cooking  a burger for me, I would love to try it.

Wow... that was thoroughly convincing.

But burgers can taste way better. Burgers have more potential drawbacks, but also much more potential flavor and goodness.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Bringing up bacon is not fair.

I disagree!

Bacon (pork) can be added to burgers (beef) just as chili (beef) can be added to hot dogs (pork). The argument is most certainly valid and completely within the rules. Although chili dogs are very yummy... especially at Uncle Buck's at Bass Pro Shops, they pale in comparison to a Bacon Burger.

The problem is that bacon is better than both the hamburger and the hot dog.
