Because of money and the fact that New York had no incentive to trade him unless they were getting something good in return.  

He expires this summer anyway, so it's not like they needed to deal him.

Correction: the next Michael Jordan.  Though at some point MJ's name will be an insult to Billy.

I dunno... I feel like we are saying that now because he's shooting 4/5 from the three. We can't count on that happening on a regular basis.
