  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
We are the three players who late in the decade became the first to leave Duke early during the Krzyzweski era.  A phenomenally talented big, a powerful young swingman, and an explosive point guard, all 3 of us were chosen in the Top 14 of that year's draft.  However, our careers have taken far different directions since then.  Two of us are still in the league, but one is a shadow of his former self, and the other is dogged by a reputation for selfish play.  The third crashed out of the league very quickly and hasn't been heard of in a long time.  Name all 3 of us for TP credit.

Brand
Maggette
Williams

Close but no cigar I am afraid - heh, that "crashed out of the league" line seems really mean if it had been Jay.  Unintentional I promise.

Is Bobby Hurley better?

Duhon and Langdon are incorrect - Langdon was in the draft that year but was a senior and did not leave early.

It's pretty funny to me as a Duke hater just how obscure this guy is now.

Another semi-hint - while Coach K advised Brand to leave and was at least somewhat OK with Maggette going as well, he strongly advised this third player to stay in school.

I looked it up......I have no recollection of this guy either as a college player or an NBA pro.

Anybody else?  Hints are: a PG at Duke who left school early the same year as Brand and Maggette, despite being strongly advised to stay.  Was a colossal failure in the league despite being picked in the top 14 that year.

This is a juco transfer that graduated as a Wildcat. One of only 6 players to average 21points or more every year for his first 10 NBA seasons. Didn't win a ring until the the season he retired.

Lol, let me rephrase it, name the 3 basketball players who were dubbed "Lethal Weapon 3"
