Olympic Gold Medalist, Prolific Shooter, All-star, All NBA, and member of one of the most explosive 3 man combos in the history if the NBA. Later went on to be a pretty terrible GM. Also, it isn't Larry Bird, but he did spend some time in Indiana.

Mullen?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I was the last pick of the second round of my draft class. I was a one trick pony, but man was I good at that trick! Oh, and I'm still associated with the team that drafted me, even though there were no big moments involving that team while I played...and I was involved in many big moments.

And yes, it was Mullens

The most undeserving member of the greatest assembly of talent ever put together on the same Olympic team, he had a tendency of being around for big moments. Never a superstar but was a 1 time allstar and former Naismith winner. Although his prime was in the 90's he still managed to retire from the eventual NBA champs 1 year too early.

We are the three players who late in the decade became the first to leave Duke early during the Krzyzweski era.  A phenomenally talented big, a powerful young swingman, and an explosive point guard, all 3 of us were chosen in the Top 14 of that year's draft.  However, our careers have taken far different directions since then.  Two of us are still in the league, but one is a shadow of his former self, and the other is dogged by a reputation for selfish play.  The third crashed out of the league very quickly and hasn't been heard of in a long time.  Name all 3 of us for TP credit.

As an NBA player he was able to make it rain, but as a college player he barely played. He left his first school because of a an accusation of theft over some gold chains, then went to a community college where he never played a minute. Still went top 20 in the NBA draft though.

Close but no cigar I am afraid - heh, that "crashed out of the league" line seems really mean if it had been Jay.  Unintentional I promise.
