Charles Barkley guaranteed the Cavs would come back and win this game.  Very astute observation as it was quite obvious that the Celtics had played their best basketball but couldn't put Cleveland away.
With all due respect, you can say they played their best basketball if they can execute their offense when Cleveland ratchets up the D.  The Cavs did it in the 3Q and the C's folded.

What happens in the 1st half when teams really don't go after it defensively really isn't a good gauge of how well a team is playing.  This team has consistently folded whenever teams have played good D against them in the 2nd half.

Keep waiting for the C's to turn the corner but I just don't think it's going to happen.

44 minutes and counting for Rondo...I'm sure he'll play the next 2-3 minutes then Doc will finally sub him. And we'll still lose...awesome.

Goodnight, I wasn't ready to watch us play like it's garbage time when there was a game to win. Better luck next time!

Well this is what happens when you only play 3 quarters, hope they're embarrassed and remember this for the next game.

One last parting shot...

The Portland game unfortunately was an aberration.  There was hope that it could be the start of a major turnaround but obviously not.  The C's still can't keep big leads and finish games strong.

Nothing has changed...
I disagree, I thought the Portland game was the return of early season Boston Celtics. I still feel that way.

This team will win around 80% of it's games the rest of the way.

Get Rondo out and use the **** bench with some level of creativity.

when the refs allow one team to be so aggressive it really gets them going on offense. that's exactly what happened during that several minute stretch in the 3rd when cavs were not called for any fouls. you'd think the home team would at least get some calls and not the road team. but the cavs are different.

You're a lakers fan and obviously anti-lebron. I've checked your post history. Just stop posting.

Wow - so what happened? Could Pierce have made a difference? I checked in briefly a while ago and we seemed to be in control...fatigue? Doc?

Is it possible to develop down syndrome suddenly?
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Hey Jadams, where the bleep are you now?

 ;D
oh, that gets a TP sir.

Right here --- didn't want to ruin the false optimism that you had.  Where are you now that the C's have been outscored by 22 in the second half and collapsed yet again?

And what part of my thread warning about "calling out posters" didn't you comprehend?

That goes for eveyone.

Exactly. The Cavs have got away with murder, and it's pathetic. I know the Celtics deserve to lose, but the NBA is a complete joke and its such a disgrace with all the gift wrapped calls the front running Cavs get.

Alright, either fire Doc or hire another coach that makes all of the substitutions. His rotation is clearly not working and he refuses to adjust it!!! SOOOO FRUSTRATING! Rondo is playing 40+ minutes a game right now and looks exhausted by the time the 4th quarter rolls around. Sheed and Davis clearly can't play together. Garnett needs more rest, so does allen, and shelden needs to get in there because Glen Davis is a joke, i'm sorry that's just the way i feel.

this is the team we have. they will not change. they will not be 100 percent healthy. they will not flip the switch. the are an aging team that cannot finish games.

Painfully obvious that this would end up being another blown lead and the C's would get obliterated in the 2nd half again.

You may have noticed, Paul Pierce didn't play tonight.  Last I checked, he's a fairly big part of the team.
