Hinrich is a solid shooter, but he isn't a very good one. This season his efficiency is down because he was dealing with lingering injuries during the first third of the season. He's been improving his efficiency. His FG% isn't impressive because he's strictly a jump-shooter and takes a lot of 3s. His eFG% is 44.8% for the season but one can expect it to raise to the low 50s when he's healthy and doesn't need to force shots.

Hinrich's biggest assets are
- defensive prowess. Very good defending guards and some small forwards. Quick, smart and tough. Not ideal to play him at the 2/3 due to rebounding but can defend bigger players than him effectively.
- primary ball-handler. Doesn't have the quickness+court vision+advanced ball-handling skills to create easy shots or fix plays but he's a steady, mistaken-free point-guard.

Robinson is a far better player.
