I saw this rumor and thought - oh NO!
http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=15308

I can't see giving up Perk for Beidrins. Dwight Howard would wreck havoc on us.
I do not want to see this trade.

I am pretty sure GS is throwing out BS rumor after BS rumor.  I wouldn't read a thing into it.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat.  Biedrins is better than Perkins.  Repeat after me: Biedrins is better than Perkins.

Liking this rumor a lot talent-wise, but that is a big bump in salary next year. Makes it harder to believe.

Thats way to much money to take back for an undersized SG and Biedrins . Unless Ray is getting bought out I wouldnt do it.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
With the exception of Truehoops, sources with the word hoops in them tend to not be reliable. With that said, if there is any truth to this it's great talent, but the move screams rebuild. I don't believe it because I don't think Danny is ready to believe.

Look at Biedrins' FT percentage and tell me if you still agree. :D

Why do you like Biedrins, anyways? Does he actually have post-up moves/possibly range? Can he defend? Cause I Don't even like Ellis in place of Ray Allen, at all.

such a trade would definitely make us much youthier.

Absolutely not. Biedrins was shooting 3-23 from the line this year last time I checked. No way I would ever want him.

Biedrins' career FT % is pretty close to Perkins, they are very similar in shot blocking, and Biedrins is a much better rebounder.

And Ellis was phenomenal back when he had to play off the ball with Baron Davis there. He is much better than Ray at this point.

Biedrins is a hard-nosed player with a mean streak.  Left handed. Legitimate 7 footer.  Rebounds, blocks shots and runs the floor.  Can put the ball on the floor and take it to the rack.  Not a great jump shot, but better than Perkins.  Poor free throw shooter (62%, 55% over the last two years) but not that much worse than Perkins (62% and 60% over the last two years).

I don't know.  If Garnett looks cooked to a lot of us, well, Danny has always struck me as a realist, so he might be thinking start the rebuild now.  He could plausibly claim that it's a upgrade in talent too, and in my opinion, it would be.  Ellis is the most talented guy in the whole trade.

Let me add that this is a dream deal but management will nix it because it is too expensive.  They'd rather save the money and pretend that the current roster still has a chance.
