You guys are sleeping on Ellis. He is a monster. When GS had talent beside him he was extremely efficient. 20 ppg on 53% shooting is just amazing for a SG. The issue has been after his "moped" incident. That is what I worry about: his attitude and play.

The main concern though would be on defense. This is the NBA, not college. Bigger teams like the Magic or LA would expose our lack of height in the backcourt all day. IMO, a better package would be Ray/Perk for Gay/Thabeet in hopes that Thabeet will devolop as nicely as Perk has and a guarentee that Gay will sign an extension. Gay is a very good defensive player, can shoot, and could run the floor due to his great athletic ability. Maybe we could even substitute Thabeet for Gasol if thier GM is dumb enough. & we all know thier GM's history of making intelligent moves...

This is how I see it too.  Ellis is a very good player. 

This team was built around Garnett as the centerpiece.  He is a mere shell of his former self.  Ray's game is not what it was two years ago, and PP's game, while close is not what it was two years ago.  Put it all together and you don't have a legit contender (and Garnett and PP won't be getting better next year).  The handwriting is on the wall.  Start the rebuild with Ray's contract.  In my view Ellis would be an excellent piece going forward.  Biedrins and Perk are near a wash, though Perk is the better low post defender.  Biedrins is a much better rebounder than Perk.  All in all, this would be a very solid deal.

Agreed 100%.  With this deal, if Biedrins were the starter, we would not only be much quicker, but 3 of our starting 5 would be the future, rather than having 3 whose best days are behind them.  Rondo, Ellis, and Biedrins would all be at or under 25, and still moving into their prime as we still contend for a title now, right?  Seems like a pretty smart move to me.

Absolutely not. Biedrins was shooting 3-23 from the line this year last time I checked. No way I would ever want him.

The replacement of Ellis for Allen will more than offset any loss Perkins gives you for guarding the bigger Centers in the East.  Plus although limited offensively Biendrins really knows he's limited offensively and would rather pass than shoot.  I like a player that realizes his limitations and still produces.

Any way to get Ellis on the C's is fine with me.

Let me add that this is a dream deal but management will nix it because it is too expensive.  They'd rather save the money and pretend that the current roster still has a chance.

This is sort of a win/win scenario for you.  If they do it you'll be happy and if they don't the reason they won't do it is because they are cheap and will lie and say they still have a chance when they know they don't.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat.  Biedrins is better than Perkins.  Repeat after me: Biedrins is better than Perkins.

Look at Biedrins' FT percentage and tell me if you still agree.

Why do you like Biedrins, anyways? Does he actually have post-up moves/possibly range? Can he defend? Cause I Don't even like Ellis in place of Ray Allen, at all.

He is a double double machine when healthy and is young!
