ahhhhh I cannot wait for the trade deadline to pass. I'm debating just playing NBA 2k10 and just watching games and letting the chips fall where they will.

EDIT: Actually I will probably just do that anyways.

i have already talked myself into the fact that i dont think boston will make a deal.

we know you say that every other post  ;)

i am more concerned on how this team can get better with what they have now. too much talent to keep blowing big leads. they should have 40 wins right now....easily.

A lot of the posters here are selling themselves short on Monte Ellis.  This high schooler has big time game and then some.  Sure, he's gotta grow up a bit a la Big Baby Davis, but still, sky's the limit.  He hasn't even reached what he can become, especially behind a coach like Doc Rivers.

If you can get a Monte Ellis by giving up an older veteran like Ray Allen, you have to pull the trigger on that.

A Martin + Nocioni for Ray deal would be much, much better for us both in short term and long term, and would keep us in the race for the championship this season and beyond...

Agreed.  But seems like Sacramento doesn't want to trade Martin anymore...

Ah, enough of that stuff, right? Tomorrow is the beginning of a new a beautiful thing. We're still first in the Atlantic. Tomorrow, we take the kings...next week, the world...right?......

This trade is absolutely ridiculous.

Why would we give up Ray for Ellis? He's so over valued and is a glorified scorer on a terrible team. If we wanted a player like that, we could have signed Iverson.

FWIW, I did her another version of this that included Sheed coming out of GS. Pound of salt with that one.

Don't know what the sourcing deal here is, as I am a total noob. Just thought I'd share.

hahaha so true, some people just cant see that we arent winning the title this year probably either way. Why not get young all star talent for a 35 yr old SG on the way out .

Hey guys... Celts fan here in CA, know more about the Ws than I ever should.

Random thoughts:

1. Chris Cohan is in serious financial trouble, and as reported, may be looking to shed salaries to facilitate a sale.

2. Biedrins is by no means better than Perkins. That's not even a subjective take. To say otherwise is simply factually incorrect. Get it out of your minds right now. Biedrins pads rebounding stats playing as the only big man on an uptempo team. He can't score 20 and he can't stop his man from scoring 20. Perkins is significantly better on both ends of the floor. Biedrins has no offensive game at all. Good guy, though... good attitude and leadership potential. Nice hands, can finish, especially on the pick and roll.

At least you can run a pick and roll with Biedrins.  Perkins gets called for a foul every time he tries to set a pick.

I'll say it again: Biedrins is better than Perkins, who has no jump shot, can't hold on to a rebound, can't learn to stop putting the ball on the floor where the mice can get at it, can't set a pick without fouling, doesn't run the floor and doesn't hustle for offensive rebounds.  (He used to, but not any more.  Maybe his wife told him to stop.)

What Perkins has is 30-40 extra pounds of bulk. That's his only advantage over Biedrins as far as I can see.

The only viable role Ellis would have on this team while Rondo's still here would be as a 6th man.  He's simply too small and ball-dominant to share the court with Rondo full-time.

I think we could get Leandro Barbosa to fill that role for a lot cheaper.

Dallas would have been a good landing spot for Ellis.  He could add more explosiveness to the role that Jason Terry's been filling for them.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

RIGHT?

yessir...a win tomorrow night and a win vs LA would restore my hope in this team. then again a loss vs both would just be more frustration and anger

Brick, Perk is a very solid post defender and he has a decent post-up game. He is also a total gamer.

I have watched Lamar Odom grab 45 boards on Biedrins in two back-to-back games. 2nd rounders walk right through his chest like he isn't even there. Rondo has a better post-up game.

His stats are a mirage. Still a decent enough player, just nowhere near Perk.

I have to respectfully disagree. Perkens did and does an excellent guarding big centers, rebounds pretty well in traffic, and has been showing some moves in the post. Yeah, he needs to stop bringing the ball down and stand still on picks, but he's still young and getting better. He also clogs the middle and can block some shots. I'm not totally opposed to this trade, but I think think it's because Biedrins is better than Perk.

The dollars and years comming back for that deal as originally posted would scare me off.  Sending Sheed back offsets Biedrins $$ some (2 of the 4 future years) but if these two guys fizzle, we will be in trouble for several years.  I sure hope we do something better than this and I sure hope we see a healthier KG real soon.

Well, you only have Perkins for one more year on the cheap.  After that, he'll be just as expensive as Biedrins.  Plus, we all know about Perkins' shoulder issues and his plantar fasciitis, right?

This deal is a total no brainer. The question is whether or not GS has to do it to induce Larry Ellison to buy the franchise.

Congratulations to Ellison, BTW, for retaking the America's Cup.
