I really think it would be tough for them to give up Martin, but maybe a deal like this would make a little sense:
Boston sends: Ray Allen
Boston gets: Kevin Martin, Andres Nocioni
Sacramento sends: Kevin Martin, Andres Nocioni
Sacramento gets: Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver
Utah sends: Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver
Utah gets: Ray Allen
For Boston, if they are willing to take on that salary, it gets them a younger SG, and a tough bench guy, who can defend the perimeter PF's, and add a little of what they lost with James Posey.
For Sacramento, they get two expiring contracts, with one of them being the "prolific big man" that was mentioned by Berger, who they could rent for a few months, and then decide to resign if they like how he fits with the team. I know Sacramento is not a real popular destination for NBA players, but I picture Boozer as one of the guys who would be OK with playing there, if they pay him. Especially since they would likely be willing to pay him a little more than he would get on the open market this summer.
For Utah, they get the best SG they have had in years, and could make a run at the Lakers if things gel. It just balances their roster a bit better.
Of course the problems are: Utah is playing great right now, and might not be willing to mess with things...but if they are willing to take a risk, Ray would be the perfect fit for them.
There is also the possibility that Utah and Sacramento cut Boston out of this, but I don't think Utah is willing to take on a contract like Nocioni's, so that would make it tough, unless they were willing to throw in the NY pick.
And then of course, the biggest question is whether Sacramento is getting enough for Martin...that I kind of doubt, but who knows how desperate they are to save some cash next season?
