So I have just about finished putting together the Pick 2 New York Knicks, that just so happens to not have even one current Knick on the roster

With 6 rounds done the Knicks have already drafted and/or traded for 10 players and will be amongst the deepest teams in the league in regards to quality and experience coming off their bench

Heck, three of the Knicks bench players are starters on three of the four best teams in the league right now

The team as a whole has talent, experience, great rebounding, outside shooting, low post players and scorers, ball handlers from several positions, great bench depth, good to great defense, plenty of athletes and plenty of big game experience

Starters

PG: George Hill
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Grant Hill
PF: Zach Randolph
C:  Nene Hilario

Bench

PG: Ty Lawson
SG: Anthony Parker
SF: Matt Barnes
PF: Kenyon Martin
C:  Louis Amundson
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

I'd say concerns are:

1. Age
2. Chemistry
3. Defense, especially at the 2 and 4
4. Lack of a go-to scorer on the wing.

Just for comparison's case here is the difference between the teams:

Starters

PG: George Hill                     Chris Duhon
SG: Ray Allen                        Wilson Chandler
SF: Grant Hill                         Danilo Gallinari
PF: Zach Randolph              Jared Jeffries
C:  Nene Hilario                    David Lee

Bench

PG: Ty Lawson                    Nate Robinson, Toney Douglas
SG: Anthony Parker             Larry Hughes, Cutino Mobley
SF: Matt Barnes                  Marcus Landry
PF: Kenyon Martin              Al Harrington, Jonathan Bender
C:  Louis Amundson         Jordan Hill, Eddy Curry, Darko Milicic

Salary

$71.8 million                      $83.7 million

So now not only does New York have a way, way, way better team with deep playoff aspirations but they have now saved almost $12 million with two more players to draft

I will definitely bringing in the Pick2 Knicks under $75 million with only $14 million worth of contracts being held over into the 2011-2012 lockout off season

Do you see the Knicks as being able to compete for a title?

I think you've put together an interesting team, but I can't agree that it has deep playoff aspirations.  Your best player is Zach Randolph, who has never exactly been a playoff leader.  I think George Hill is probably too young to be the starting point guard for a good playoff team, and Ray and Grant Hill are ancient.

At the end of the day, I think you team might squeak into the playoffs, but I think it would lose in the first round.  I can't see it contending for the Atlantic, let alone the East.

Of course, this doesn't seem to be a popular opinion, as multiple folks have had nice things to say about your team.  It's all a matter of perception, anyway.

Out of all the teams I've seen thus far, I think I like Edgar's the best in terms of winning now.  There's no coincidence there, I guess, since he's my former CrotoNat co-GM.  Still, objectively, I'm a fan of Orlando.

The Lebrons and the Kobes will also be contenders, as well, and I like Bahku's Denver team more than some have expressed.

It'll be very interesting to compare these teams alongside one another once the roster's are finished. See where each team ranks in it's own division and conference, and, to see how much of a title threat they are.

That team would be a lower echelon eastern playoff team. Also, it doesn't seem like they would be positioned especially well for a run next year either with randolph and nene on the books for large money. That team would seem like the wizards of the last few years. Good enough to be a 6th or maybe 5th seed, but not really a shot to get past the second round of the playoffs.

My team won't compete for the title this year or next, but it's improved over the current Thunder, I think.

C: Oden
PF: Brand
SF: Durant
SG: Morrow
PG: Westbrook

BN: Villanueva
BN: Blatche
BN: Garcia

There are still some holes, but I'm happy with the core.  In time, I see Brand taking over as the backup center, with one of the backup bigs moving into the starting lineup.

It seems like you are sleeping on the Spurs :). Any team with Duncan and Parker probably makes the playoffs with three stiffs. The fact that I have a very solid nba center in Dalembert (see the comparison between him and perk in another thread), a good third banana in marion. Jack and Barbosa for depth in the backcourt. It gets pretty interesting...

Don't like Brand as a fit.

And Blatche is to immature.  I would be worried about him in the lockerroom.

Rest of the team is very nice.
