hinrich is not a 2 guard and we need scoring from the 2....he would fill the back up PG well...thomas makes us more athletic but where is he going to play? he is coming off the bench. this deal would instantly make boston the best bench in the league...BUT they would have no SG in this trade.
I think Daniels or Allen could fill out the role of the 2 guard.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • Larry Bird for President
i would trade any player not named rondo, PP. perk and garnett...i would offer everyone else to upgrade the SG with a young, more athletic guy and a legit PG...danny needs to go poke his head over to his friend larry bird and try to get danny granger..

daniels as the starting SG?? not sure i like that...

What happens to the big man rotation if Thomas was acquired?

In the playoffs: 29-33 minutes for Perk. 35-37 minutes for KG. That leaves 26-32 minutes for the bench. Is Tyrus Thomas the first big off the bench? Or Rasheed? Do they split the time evenly? Or give 18-22 minutes to one and 6-12 minutes to the other?

Tyrus Thomas would be very valuable in matching up against Orlando and have value against Atlanta too. Does he help against Cleveland? Or the Lakers?

Thomas is the kind of quick, athletic 4 this team needs in the rotation. I think his minutes would depends on the match ups. Versus Smith, Williams, Lewis, Anderson, Bass, Hickson, James, Odom, etc. Thomas would be a great help.

I think trading Allen for Hinrich is suicidal in terms of winning the championship this season though.

I'm not even sure Rondo would get Granger...

And yea, I don't see Daniels/Pierce being a good fit for major minutes.

What about TA, the way he's been playing lately I wouldn't mind giving him starters minutes.

Larry Bird loves the Celtics but he's not crazy and doesn't want to lose his job, so he's not trading us Danny Granger no matter what we offer them.

Ray Allen's leaving and the players know it already. The evidence is that PP is taking the technical FTs!  ;) Seriously, I don't want to see Ray go and I think a solution is to play TA more and consider starting him on some nights (against weaker teams).

Ray is the ultimate Chemistry guy and he will definitely come through during the playoffs. There's just no way you can count him out, and believe me if we do trade him, he will play well on another team this year.

I am sorry but we cannot consistenly play TA with Rondo and Perk.  This would be a horrible offensive team.  At the very least, we would need a guy that can shoot (which is why I don't think we can start Daniels with this group either).

I like Hinrich, but want no part of Thomas. Maybe some other team is willing to throw in something useful to get their hands on him.

Milwaukee gets Thomas, and we get Mbah a Moute?
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I am not a fan of a trade that doesn't net the Celtics a starting SG.

Thank you.  And one with size to boot.

I feel that Tony Allen deserves a shot at starting with the way he's been playing. If Marquis comes back healthy he could also fill that role.
I think we need to either get an SG that is an upgrade over Ray (from a cash strapped team) or a young player that we could add to our nucleus of Perk and Rondo for the future.

We need a SG who can, well shoot, to play with Rondo.

I know a lot of people proscribe to this theory but I am not one of them. I am tired of how we have become a jump shooting team. We already have Kg, Pierce, Sheed and Eddie takin a ton of jumpers, I think this team would be much improved by someone who goes to the hole.
People make the spacing the floor argument, but I feel that more of Ray's 3's come from diagramed picket fence plays than someone kicking it to him after a drive when the floor is spaced.
