I think when one of the young guys brings that energy everybody flows off that. Tonight, Tony is that man.

The only thing keeping Sheed in the NBA is his occasional defense. He is washed up.

It's obvious that what the team needs is athleticism at the 2 spot. Ray is my favorite Celtic, but Tony is able to run the floor with Rondo better than Ray. I might be on board with Tony starting and Ray coming off the bench, if Tony can continue to play like this.

Why would Doc call a timeout when all the momentum is with us?

Probably playing mind games with Phil Jackson, who never calls timeouts in those spots.

i thought baby called that timeout because he was about to lose the ball

  • It's not hard to work hard.
You know, there are TONS of things to criticize Sheed for.  He's an extremely frustrating player.  But you can't watch that guy on the bench and think he doesn't care.  It's one of the things that is most admirable about him.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

If I were Doc, I'd start Tony in the 2nd half. Let Ray bring the fire power off the bench.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
