It wouldn't put the Cavs over the top, and it won't happen anyway. Here is what Wojnarowski said about the trade proposals regarding Amare : "the Suns want a combination of young talent, salary-cap relief and draft picks for him. "
 
The Cavs can offer cap relief, but that's it. Their picks have no value since they are not a lottery team. The best young talent they can offer is JJ Hickson and I'm sure Phoenix will want more. And they will probably get better offers.

Plus, Amare is really overrated and he doesn't know how to play defense, not to mention that he doesn't fit well with Shaq on the court, so imagine what it would be with Shaq and LeBron.

Funny that every time I read a trade regarding Ilgauskas going to another team there seems to be a stipulation that the other team buy out Ilgauskas so that he can return to the Cavs

So basically Cleveland will take your high salary superstar off your hand but doesn't want the other team to get anything in return except a minor prospect for an NBA star like Jamison or Amare

If that is the way the Cavs think other teams will do business then the Celtics have to get involved trading Ray Allen and demanding after the trade that the other team buy out Ray so that he can return to the Celtics too

I can't remember where but I think it was ESPN that said one of the major roadblocks in a Cleveland-Washington trade is that Cleveland is insisting Ilgaukas gets bought out and Washington won't do it

The Cavaliers are going to be THE scariest team at the trade deadline, and for one reason: LeBron.

In my opinion, he won't be staying in Cleveland after this season.  Once he leaves, that franchise is done (the interest in the Indians and Browns is dwindling)...Ferry has to do anything and everything he can.  And he WILL!

I thought that was the rumor with their attempts to get Steven Jackson. They wanted a Big Z for Jackson swap and a handshake agreement for the Warriors to buy out Big Z so he could come back to the Cavs.

I agree with Who. The Suns aren't going to give Amare to the Cavs just for expiring contracts. They can certainly get a better offer from many other teams. Amare to the Cavs is wishful thinking. Also, how well did the Amare and Shaq combo work in Phoenix? The Cavs would be better off trading Shaq and keeping big Z.

Not sure.  Suns like Hickson already.  One other young player they like that isn't a star might be all that is needed.

The young star doesn't exist. Not for expiring deals.

We've all been talking Ray Allen trades for months and we're struggling to come up with anyone to give up for a declining 34 year old shooting guard.

Nevermind someone as young as Amare, as good as Amare, and with as big of a reputation as Amare.
