Per Spears' After the buzzer

Quote
The Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams who have expressed some interest in New York Knicks guard Nate Robinson, league sources said. Robinson’s base-year status, however, makes it difficult for any trade and the Knicks are said to be reluctant to ship Robinson to an Eastern Conference team, further complicating the Celtics’ efforts to land him.

The Memphis Grizzlies also have shown interest in Robinson, but the feeling, for now, isn’t mutual. Robinson can veto any trade and doesn’t appear eager to move to Memphis.

Get him.  Don't let the Lakers have him.  That's just what they need, a spark off the bench where their bench is thin.

Only if Eddie House is involved in the trade...honestly, I love Eddie but he and Nate would could not be on the floor at the same time.

I'd have to be convinced he can play defense, too...still, this could be the move we need.  Our bench really needs an upgrade.  I'm just not sure this is the kind of upgrade it needs, ideally.

the best part of this is that it means that Danny knows we need to upgrade the bench...

Personally, I'm all against getting Robinson. The guy is a cancer, a ballhog and he is undersized.

Sure, he can play and shoot, and if he wants to come to Boston he could fit in very well but we already have House as an undersized shooter, so what's the point of bringing Robinson?

Danny should do his best to get a wing defender/shooter, this is our biggest need. Let Marquis run the point when he comes back and we will be fine, no need for a backup point guard unless you can sign him after a buyout.

We incorporated our beloved Starbury as well, so I don't see how this guy should pose a problem. Get him. Let's see what he can do for us.

I love playing around on ESPN Trade Machine and could only come up with one trade that made any sort of sense as to why New York would trade Robinson within the division

New York gets Brian Scalabrine, Eddie House, Bill Walker and Tony Allen

Boston gets Jared Jeffries, Nate Robinson and Wes Chandler

This way Boston gets the backup small forward and point guard they need and a defensive small forward/power forward in Jeffries while New York gets to take another 9 million dollars off next years payroll

I'm don't like Jeffries at all and I'm not convinced Nate Robinson is the type of point guard I would want running the show when Rondo is sitting but I think it might make the team better

Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

I say get Nate because he will help us and because the Lakers are scary enough already.  Plus I'm a little tired of the House show.  He's so one dimentional ridiculous.  He's less than 6 feet and we sill always have to find someone else to dribble the ball up the court when he's in.

House is 6-1 and Robinson is 5-9, so from a height point of view, Eddie clearly has the edge on Nate...

I don't think Nate would a be difference maker for a contender. He could be a big boost for the Lakers since their PG's are awful but on our team, I don't see a big need.

Nate can bring the ball up the court, House can't.

Nate is an undersized ballhog, House can make passes.

The most likely scenario trade here involves Tony and another for Nate. I really want Nate, but not if it includes Tony. Without Tony(who is playing great right now) we have injured Daniels and Walker that can't get playing time on a 9 man roster. If anything, I would hope Danny would talk to NYK and another team to make a 3 team trade. Nate to be our PG spark, and we need another wing.
BBD, House, Scalabrine, Giddens and Walker should be available. That's 11 mil of salary plus 4 expirings. Danny can make that work.
Can't stop, Rondo!

I tried simple trades like Tony Allen and Bill Walker for Nate Robinson on ESPN Trade Machine and they didn't work

Robinson is a BYC player so the deal has to be bigger

I think for the Celtics to get Robinson in a trade they would have to take Jeffries contract otherwise why would New York trade Nate to Boston only to possibly have to face him in the first round of the playoffs, which is still possible
